Victor Frankl wrote this book in nine days. It chronicles Frankl’s experiences after losing most of his family including his pregnant wife, at Auschwitz as a concentration camp inmate during World War II. He used his experience as a psychiatrist and neurologist to help him survive horrendous circumstances. He discovered that when he identified a purpose of living and felt positive about it, he found that he could survive by imagining that outcome over and over again. “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms —to choose one’s attitude in any set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. Those who have a way to live, can bear with almost any how”. #simplemoderntherapy#mentalhealth#mentalhealthstigma#mondaymuse

FAKE TAN •
Fake tan is known to us all. Some like a minimal tan, some like a really dark tan and some just use glow moisturizer. For me, tanning is frustrating. Not one tan fits all! The upkeep is tedious but I swear by Le Tan Uber Dark - A! It is my life! Never had a problem with it and it gives me the best results! Highly recommend you use this if you’re struggling to find one that fits!

STRESS RELIEVER •
Hot day? Tired? Feeling extra exhausted in the heat? You’re not alone!! Go for a walk somewhere cool. My go to place to go for a walk in the heat is the beach! If you live near a river or lake that is good too! And if not, drive to a place that makes you happy and go for a little stroll! (Bring water especially in this heat!) sometimes working in the heat has us feeling extra tired and overwhelmed. Which can result in feeling stressed becuase we’ve naturally slowed down so we don’t overheat, so we’re working a bit slower than usual. But don’t stress! Go for a little walk to calm down and cool down. Have a cold shower, go for a swim, whatever your heart desires but remember in the heat you always need to take a break to relax! Enjoy this warm weather! Summer is coming and we couldn’t be more excited ! 😍😄🌞
And meanwhile, they won’t dare to hit that #UNFOLLOW button either! Because in real life, their acting like you to someone, saying what you say to someone else, planning goals that you’ve already #accomplished to themselves. People that actually #succeed at what they reach for on a consistent basis, are going to always have more hate than love, because their always going to make more people jealous than more people #proud ..... #facts 💯 #mondaymuse 😉
Today is #mondaymuse from the social media challenge!
Something people probably don’t know about me is that I love to build and restore old furniture. It’s been a hobby of mine for a little over a year and I have furnished about 90% of the furniture in my home! It’s inexpensive and allows me to put my own creative and unique touch on things.
”Women who stay true to themselves are always more interesting and beautiful to me: women like Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe and Anna Magnani - women who have style, chic, allure and elegance. They didn't submit to any standard of beauty - they defined it”~ Isabella Rossellini.

With so many diets and ideas about how, when, and what to eat these days, it is hard to navigate all the information out there. Intuitive Eating has been around for awhile now but is always a great book recommendation for anyone seeking a healthier relationship with food. It is a book written for those that would like to restore their minds and bodies to factory settings about food. The goal is to make peace with food by making all foods emotionally equal, fueling your body when it needs food, and discontinuing eating when it is satisfied. Intuitive eating teaches us to reconnect with body signals and be free from diet mentality. #intuitiveeating#mentalhealth#simplemoderntherapy#mentalhealthstigma#mondaymuse
Walter Mischel - Father of the marshmallow test
“If we have the skills to allow us to make discriminations about when we do or don’t do something, we are no longer victims of our desires”
Children who have found ways to delay gratification, he found, had greater success in school, made more money, and were less prone to obesity and drug addiction.
I know this book is buzzing right now and for good reason! Who wouldn’t want to read a book about being empowered, taking control of your life, making shit happen, all while dispelling lies of self doubt and insecurities. Rachel is brave and bold and leads us to be the same. “It’s impossible to go somewhere new, to become something new, without first acknowledging where you are. The self awareness that comes from truly digging into what you’ve come to believe about who you are is invaluable.”
