Not bad for 44 minutes! Truthfully I am caring less and less about the number of calories burdened and more of how I feel. What a week! Tonight, Lombard Conrad Architects was awarded an AIA Award of Merit in Architecture for the design of South Hills Middle School in Twin Falls, Idaho. In business and in life, motivation is a driving force for success. Among employees, being motivated has been proven to boost engagement, productivity, and innovation.
Motivated employees are valuable because they put the most into their work and it shows in what they produce. To increase the level of motivation among your teammates, here are a few tips:
#1 . Have all hands on deck when setting goals:
Involving employees when setting company goals would help them see how they contribute to the big picture. Seeing how their work adds to larger goals would help them understand the importance of what they do. Including them in brainstorming and planning sessions would help them understand how they fit in. Plan out next steps with your workers so they have something to look forward to once the task they're working on with is complete.
#2 . Provide opportunities for growth:
Encouraging the development of both personal and professional skills is a big part of motivation. Setting up periodic workshops, trainings, and/or talks, led by different employees in their areas of expertise, will encourage a learning culture in the long run. In doing this, be sure to minimize organizational politics while promoting fairness.
#3 . Encourage taking risks:
Make a workplace mantra out of the quote: "If you never try, you’ll never know." Remind your team that there's a learning opportunity in every failure. Giving employees the freedom to take risks while pointing out the opportunity for growth would help in building trust.
#4 . Recognize big and small successes:
Make it a point to recognize a job well done, acknowledge successes and be liberal with kudos. Asides being related to personal development, such recognition would significantly boost employee motivation. Also, creating reward systems like pay increases, bonuses, and promotions would go a long way in boosting feelings of competence and mastery.

The talking point - The nervousness around not having Mo Salah
I understand he was the most transferred out player with over 350,000 people choosing to get rid of him, but I am sat here without him and feeling incredibly nervous! I’m confident he’ll score, he was so unlucky against Spurs and I think against a frail Southampton defence, he will prosper. I just need to hope that Agüero and Hazard score more!
The captain - Sergio Agüero
I got it right last week between Agüero and Hazard, and I think I will be getting it right this GW too! As I thought with Cardiff last week, I think they will fall victim again to an in-form player who will be looking to celebrate his 1 year contract extension he just signed. He was rested mid-week, he’s shaken off his knock, he is ready to bring home the big points!
What I’m hoping for - Palace to prevail and Watford to perform wonders
More so with the Watford players as I don’t think many expect them to continue their good start to the season away at Fulham, but also Zaha needs to show his worth because most people seem to be swaying more towards Mitrovic and Murray as expected! These are my differentials for the weekend and much like my differentials last GW, I need these guys to do the business so I can climb the rankings even more!
