Rest in Peace Stan Lee. You brought do much joy to me and very others with your legendary comic characters. You stood up for what you believed. You were truly Amazing, Incredible, and Mighty all at once. You may be gone, but your legacy lives on. I hope that you are happy now that you've reunited with your beloved Joan. For one final time, Excelsior.
Rest in peace Mr. Lee. You brought great joy to many people across the globe. Even though you didn't know all of us, all of us loved you. You may be gone, but your legacy will live on, always. I hope your happy in Heaven with your wife Joan. Goodbye Stan, and as always...Excelsior.
@a_mowry's children invited me to their #veteransday celebration assembly held today. We got to enjoy a nice breakfast and fresh coffee before the assembly where the children shared letters they wrote and gave us art they produced. There was even a 20 second or so #momentofsilence that was actually silent. Given that the gymnasium was packed with a few hundred children from kindergarten to 6th grade age, I was quite impressed.
One little boy read us a letter he wrote to his mom. He thanked her for being the best mom in the world and her service. He said she was brave for answering the call. She also made it home which "meant she was smart, too." #toocute .
The assembly ended with a bunch of high fives and thank yous from the children as they filed out. -*-
It was quite refreshing to see children thankful for the sacrifice of others, but the most touching for me was hearing in one little girl's letter that she knew she could be brave because we were. #itearedupalittle
In place of #musicmonday , I would like to take a moment of silence to honor those who died, who are injured, who are grieving, and those who came to the rescue during the shooting that happened at Borderline last week. This shooting affects me personally as I grew up just a few miles from Thousand Oaks and would hit up Borderline with friends when I was in college - almost every kid did as it was one of the few local hangouts in that area. Now between this and the fires that are still raging on, it’s been a lot to deal with emotionally. And right now, there is no song to express how I feel. And as much as music has the power to heal, sometimes you just have to sit in silence - to reflect, to meditate, and to mourn.
My heart goes out to all those who are suffering from this horrific act. There is so much more I’d like to say, believe me, but for now I’ll let the silence speak for me. Stay strong, Conejo. I love you. (If you’d like to donate to help the victims, please click on the link my bio.)
Dino & Panda and Lambie wearing their poppies and standing in remembrance of all the heroes - past, present, and future - who fight for a better, more peaceful world. Thank you for your service. #lestweforget#momentofsilence#remembranceday
In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields. #remembranceday#momentofsilence#grateful
