Back in UK soil after a solid three weeks in beautiful Croatia. This years @soundwavecro was a VIBE. A bittersweet vibe nonetheless as the final wave is now done. Shout to all the family that put this festival on, work tirelessly behind the scenes and make sure we all get what we need. It’s definitely a family affair out there and glad we rocked it out in style.

#mokolours Inner Symbols came out last week on Five Easy Pieces...here is the #gatefold artwork. 🎉 I used photos of the artists family, loads of painted textures, cut shapes and digital drawings to create this strange landscape in night and day. The beautiful text and layout design is by @gp.works ✊🏻

Mandagsbeats!
James ‘Creole’ Thomas - Omas Sextet (22a 2018)
Mo Kolours, Peckham, 2014. Shot for One Handed Music. Mo has such strong character and look that I was was wary of not letting the backdrop compete with him. I spent a morning roaming around Peckham with Mo and we found some lovely textures and colours. We finished the shoot in Mo’s flat to show off his colourful outfits.
MOKOLOURS / ORGANIC BEAT @22aMusic
#JosephDeenmamode , known professionally as #MoKolours , is a half #Mauritian , half #British music producer, percussionist, and vocalist. In 2014, he released his debut self-titled album on expanding independent label @onehandedmusic, which was warmly received by critics. The Guardian described the record as a "feat", labelling it one of their "albums of the year". In March 2015, he released his latest EP, entitled How I (#RhythmLoveAffair ). Mo Kolours draws on a wide range of musical #influences and describes his use of #percussion as "investigating rhythm in my own way." DJ Magazine described his sound as "part #hiphop , part #funk , part #dub , part electronic”. The producer has spoken of his desire to unite similarities found amongst "bits of music all over the world", ranging from the traditional #segamusic of #Mauritius (as introduced to him by his father) to #modern hip-hop. Such eclecticism has led to comparisons to esteemed beat pioneer @Madlib, whilst @ResidentAdvisor claimed that "no-one sounds quite like Mo Kolours". In May 2011, he released the first of a trilogy of EPs for One-Handed Music; entitled EP1: Drum Talking. EP 2:Banana Wine (2012) and EP3:#TuskDance (2013) followed respectively, and were generally well received by critics. Deenmamode's debut full-length release garnered further interest, with influential radio DJs such as @GillesPeterson and @BenjiB endorsing the record on their shows. He is also part of #Peckham#SouthLondon based label #22a wich collides with brillant artist such a @Tenderlonious @neue_grafikk @aldobsonjr @jeenbassa #RubyRushton and much more to come
