Cool review of Adam Hopkins’ CRICKETS in @mojo4music magazine. Full review: Adam Hopkins’ Crickets **** “Hopkins’ debut unpacks a thrill-a-minute suite rooted in grunge, indie, and punk. Whether evoking its smothering tide of titular insects or a quacking raft of ducks, this bass-playing Henry Threadgill protege marshals the triple-sax attack of Anna Webber, Ed Rosenberg, and Josh Sinton as songs veer off-piste and dally down unpredictable paths, only to twist into oblique yet bracingly accessible patterns.” #outofyourheadrecords#adamhopkins#crickets#mojomagazine#ooyh001

"Emily Eavis denied that Fleetwood Mac would be performing and said that Kate Bush, Led Zeppelin and Tom Waits were on her wishlist for future festivals." (Evening Standard, 12Nov. 2018)
I was reading an interview from 1989... and i was thinking, can you imagine our Lady G singing "Rocket's Tail" at Glastonbury? With David playing the guitar....🚀 #katebush#genius#news#boxes#remastered#mojomagazine#unicefbluevinyl#picoftheday
I’ve never been much of a joiner or the type that likes to be a part of things (I’m a loner Dottie, a rebel). But I am very happy to say that this month marks my 15th anniversary as a contributor to MOJO magazine. It’s been a source of great personal and professional pride to be associated with such a fantastic publication and the truly wonderful people who work there. Although we operate at a remove of some 4000 miles, the MOJO gang has always been close to my heart. Last week, in London, I finally had the chance to meet a bunch of my MOJO peeps in person for the very first time, including my longtime editors Ian Harrison, Danny Eccleston and Jenny Bulley, as well as the mag’s new editor John Mulvey (missed my other pals Phil Alexander and Andrew Male, alas). As you can see, it was a real joy to spend time with this crew. Happily, the forthcoming year-end issue of MOJO – with the groovy Kate Bush cover – includes my feature on the 2018 Reissue of the Year (without giving it away, it’s a great box set from a lady who is one of the most underrated singers, songwriters, and producers ever) and a live review of the Sweetheart of the Rodeo show I caught at the Ryman recently. Anyway, MOJO brethren, thanks for a great 15 years…and here’s to 15 more! (photo by @cocohames) #mojomagazine
John Paul was giving an interview for Mojo Magazine coming out this December. He told Mojo Magazine that he has no plans to release a new solo album, and is instead focusing on his upcoming opera. When asked if he would make another solo album, Jones replied “No, no, no, I can’t be arsed.” In the interview, Jones recalled the difficult experience of dealing with promoters during his tours to support his 1999 solo album “Zooma.” “We toured the world, sold out shows, then promoters started insisting I get a bloody singer,” he said. “It was instrumental music, but I’m not Jeff Beck. I remember a promoter saying ‘We can’t grow it.’ Oh well, fuck you all.” #johnPaulJones#zooma#MojoMagazine#JefBeck#Opera#LedZeppelin
