It’s tempting to put ourselves in the position of telling other people what their lives needs to look like. Perhaps this helps us avoid having to face who we are and our own need for grace. Come this Sunday as Pastor Don tells us the secret to loving through our Krypronite.
Jesus has sent you and I on an impossible mission. We are told to love those who are hard to love, including our enemies. Wouldn’t it make more sense to simply tolerate our enemies and agree to disagree with those we find hard love? But what if our becoming Christian is dependent on our willingness to love those we find hard to love?
Jeff is one of those rare drummers who can play the modern worship genre with a subtle, southern-born backbeat — just a hint of those country-boy, southern gospel roots. A true gentleman and real pro, who also looks great on camera!
Tim Lowe is the bands’ Swiss-army nerd, bringing the modern synth sound as well as his affinity for Appalachia on mandolin and banjo. He’s also the only person in the band that speaks 7 dialects of Arabic.
A big thank you to our Lay leaders Carol Rogers and Dale Tampke for their leadership this Sunday as we celebrated our volunteers in ministry. Your message was so beautiful and inspiring! We are #bettertogether .
This Sunday we are celebrating our volunteers or "lay" leaders. Our leaders remind us of the importance of service to our community and how we can prepare our hearts to love others. Bottom line: There is more that brings us together than divides us. We are #bettertogether .
We sang one of our favorite songs on Sunday-- "I'm no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God." When you are feeling insecure or scared, remember that God watches the sparrow, so how much more does the Spirit love you? Don't listen to fear, listen for your heavenly parent.
I still wince a little at the idea of "Christian music." I think most of us know why. At the same time, music has always been sacred to me, and I've come to see just how much value there is in worship as a spiritual practice. I was raised in a Christian culture where the emphasis was heavy on belief systems that divide us, light on practices that can unify us. The experience of God's love through music has saved me from myself time and again, and it's something that I truly love to share with others. This group, Beautiful Dreamer Wake is a really special group of people who love to share God's love. As we get closer to our first public event at @hubbham on June 1st, I'd like to continue to post the videos we have made so far and dedicate them to everyone who believes that God is Love. - n.
This Sunday we end our "Eye of the Storm" sermon series by discussing how we can trust God during the storm. Through trust, we discover our faith brings both purpose and meaning to our existence. Come by and see us!
Happy Sunday! ⛪️ In case you were wondering, God is in Beijing and his people are too! It’s also amazing that the music of @elevationworship has reached this city. So cool to hear my home state’s music used in worship halfway around the world!
