A Story A Day: Day 11
Tippu is a young mouse who just became a big brother. Tippu feels that the new baby is spoiling all of his fun. He is told to play quietly, that his family will not be taking their annual vacation, and that he can not go on his weekly roller skating trip with his dad. He begins to feel left out, unloved, and resentful toward his baby sister. His friend Monty has a little sister and Monty tells him that having a sister is fun and that he likes her. Tippu can not see how that is possible, until one day when he was hiding in his parents room and heard his sister crying. As he talks to her he tells her that, "Maybe Monty was right. I think I could like you, after all!" His mother enters the room and tells Tippu that she loves him more than ever and that he matters too. Tippu no longer feels that the new baby matters more than him and that she will not always be a baby. One day she will become bigger and they will be able to do more together, as best friends. 💗💕💗💕💗💕💗💕💗💕💗💕💗💕
This book was given to me by my parents three months before my little sister was born. They wanted to prepare me for when she arrived and wanted me to know that even though the attention maybe focused on the baby for a little while, they will always love me. Today would have been my sister's 28th Birthday. In honor of her life and the 17 years I was able to spend with her, I chose this book to help keep her memory alive.
