1996, the best year for Hip-Hop? ~
There’s a lot of debates about what is the best year for Hip-Hop music, 1995, 1996, 2015 or 2016. For me, 2015 takes the crown but if you look at it with criticism, 1996 is the best one. There were so many records that went out that year, from the worldwide known ‘All Eyez On Me’ to the second Mobb Deep studio effort ‘Hell On Earth’ and a lot of other releases. ~
The average listener will certainly put ‘All Eyez On Me’ on top of that year’s list when the community will go for ‘Reasonable Doubt’ or ‘Illadelph Halflife’. That year pleased everyone in the genre: big names dropped some of their best work while more underground rappers put a lot of work and delivered great projects (Three 6 Mafia, UGK, Xzibit just to name a few). I listed below what I consider the best releases of this year (chronogical order). ~
All Eyez On Me - 2Pac
The Score - Fugees
Reasonable Doubt - Jay-Z
It Was Written - Nas
Beats, Rhymes and Life - A Tribe Called Quest
Ridin’ Dirty - UGK
ATLiens - Outkast
Illadelph Halflife - The Roots
Ironman - Ghostface Killah
The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory - 2Pac
Infinite - Eminem
Hell on Earth - Mobb Deep ~
What’s my favorite among this list? This is a tough one.. I’ll say it’s tied between 'ATLiens' and 'The Score' even if lately I’ve been bumping 'Illadelph Halflife' and it’s getting up in my all time list. ~
What do you think is the best year for Hip-Hop? What album did I miss?

HAHA 😂 all I could think of is Mobb Deep:
“Done been through it all, man..
Blood, sweat and tears, people is dead and shit
What the fuck else can happen, yo?
I don't think much more, son, word to mother, yo
We done seen it all, and been through it all, yo.” This is our last lifetime on earth and man, has it been a hell of an adventure! We really have seen it all and been through it all and now it’s time to live it up for one last hoorah! It’ll be the best lifetime yet, I know it 👽 ✨
