A huge shout out to the Finger Lakes District, Aloquin-Flint UMC, Pastor Charlie, and Dave Mott for collecting and delivering 56 flood buckets and donations for both UNY Mission Central HUB and @umc_umcor . #missionwork
(2/3) At only 24 years old, Escarlet has spent nearly two years loving and caring for the children at Eagle’s Nest. She then goes home to care for and support her ailing parents and her brother. A large portion of her paycheck goes towards purchasing life-saving medications for her father.
When you give to Eagle’s Nest through monthly sponsorships, your support goes directly towards the care of our kids. That includes the salary of their caretakers like Escarlet! #eaglesnestint#missionwork#communitycare#orphancare

Bonnie is praying one by one over each child in a Sunday School class in the Philippines, one of favorite things to do. We try to interact a lot with children. Once we got to pray over a very special child. We were taken to a home of a couple that wanted children but couldn’t have them. We prayed that God would answer the cry of their heart. We returned a year later and got to pray over their 2 month old daughter.
So very incredibly proud of this gal. 💃🏼💃🏼 To all my friends that have been along the road with us in the raising, encouraging, praying, loving of this woman, I'd love for you to read her letter to you. God is truly amazing in His timing and Will. Click the link 👆🏻in my profile!!!

Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.

In case you were wondering, we cook for 200 kids twice a day over firewood. Our lunch-ladies are champions. This is a local member of the church donating some firewood to the school. It's amazing to me how much the village contributes to the education of the kids. They know the future of the whole village is in those little hands.
Good teaching is gathering all the energy in the cosmos and pulling it into one room just long enough to melt the words being spoken into molecules that are breathed in and not heard. When those words are inhaled deep, they touch the soul. The evidence is in the eyes. Always in the eyes #HipHopEd#theWork#teachersofinstagram#MissionWork

But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children."
Never underestimate the power of the Gospel. Especially the impact it can have on a child's life.
Looking at his disciples, [Jesus] said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.” — Luke 6:20-21

October 14th is the International Missionary day, and with much joy we want honor every missionary that gave up of a life, family and so much other things for the love of the gospel.
Our prayer is that God's grace, strength and courage can reach each one, that are all around the globe.
Know that in the Lord, your work is not in vain. "Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers, who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well, because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles. We therefore ought to receive such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth."
III John 1:5-8

Another successful Saturday out at Mision Surf, as we continue with our community classes. This weekend we ran two English classes and our Adult swimming.
It was fantastic to see the progress the older kids made after just one lesson, while the younger kids got to enjoy a game of musical chairs to help learn the alphabet, run by our very own M.
Mision Surf is not only teaching valuable skills to the women and children of Puerto Madero, its encouraging our kids to learn new skills and develop their confidence too!

"Child labor and poverty are inevitably bound together and if you continue to use the labor of children as the treatment for the social disease of poverty, you will have both poverty and child labor to the end of time." — Grace Abbott
There are millions of impoverished families living in Bali. Many of them don’t know that they have options to change their situations. Our goal with our weekly street ministry is not only to bring food and toiletries to these disadvantaged children and women, but to encourage the women to come to our Women’s Workshop where they can learn soft skills to make handicrafts and earn a wage while their children can play and receive an education at our Street Kid Centre.
Please visit the link in our bio to see the many ways that you can stop the poverty cycle in Bali today!
