#thaiguys2018 story 01: #tbt After continuous misdirection and limited Thai, our taxi driver finally managed to find the tucked away Hilltribe village we were looking for. It was about a hour or so away from Chiangrai and another 20 minutes driving through a dirt road. Not only did we managed to find this village, it was also their first New Years celebration. We discovered that this village has only been around for 3 years and they just finally got electricity installed. This village consisted of 9 different hilltribes from Hmong, Mien, Akha, Lisu, and a few more. With the all of the ethnic groups collaboration, their goal was to create more revenue and tourism traffic in the area. It was an interesting experience witnessing four MCs on stage talking in their native language and seeing beautiful authentic traditional clothes worn by each of the ethnic groups. Sadly we didn’t stay too long nor did I get a chance to see Luj Yaj, a legendary Hmong singer, perform. :( it was quite an experience though! :) #missingthailand#thaiguys2018#outwithtoxicity#thailand#changrai#thailandhilltribes#hilltribes
