My first professional shot done by @minted at a very special retreat in Las Vegas in August. I am still pinching myself. I feel so lucky to be a part of an amazing community of talented artists and designers. Thank you @minted. Because of you I am in Pottery Barn Kids and Teens! 2 years in a row. An online article about it in D Magazine. Because of you I have been in West Elm 2 years in a row. All within 2 years of entering back in 2015. I am so grateful. Big hugs to the new friends I have made. When I hear from you, you make my day!
If this is what the lay flat looks like, we can't wait to see the rest of the images! 😍
Finishing up this beaut! Such a spectacular day in San Francisco with Jennie and Garrett. Can’t wait to share with all of you!

Here’s a little insight into the workings of my mind, maybe you can relate...
So, yesterday I went on this epic hike with my son & his 5th grade class all the way up to the peak of the Sierra Buttes and (naturally😉) I wanted to share the story with a photo, but since I didn’t bring my nice camera up the mountain with us (because I was sick and didn’t feel like carrying anything extra, yaddy yadda...) I didn’t get any decent quality images from the trip. So, in an attempt to keep consistent with my insta algorithm, I went browsing through past images from woodsy weddings, trying to find a pretty landscape photo or something semi-relatable...
Then, I came across a gallery from two years ago... it was @kmayherring and Josh’s wedding (one of my favorite, sweetest couples ever!!!) who got married in the redwoods and I thought, cool... I can definitely find some pretty tree photos or whatever & tie it back to my hiking story.
But then, pie and cake photos started popping up and I forgot how awesome it was that they served pie (I’m a fan!) So now, I’m seriously craving something sweet, while also giving up on my attempt to make the image relatable to my original story... but whatever, at least I got to reminisce on their amazing wedding day and my feed is still semi-decently flowing with the people/non-people pattern I’ve created...
Feeling like a spazz, but I’m sick... so that’s my excuse 😜
By the way, congrats on TWO years (this month) Kathryn & Josh!! Sending you guys lots of love 💕

This piece was inspired by Margot Tannenbaum. One of my most favorite movie characters! And color scheme was inspired by Hotel Budapest 🏩 I’m clearly a Wes Anderson fan 💞 @_potterybarnteen_ and @minted design challenge 🤞🏻
My @minted holiday cards are launching and I’ll be sharing them here for the next few days. I feel like I’ve been working on Holiday all year this year. Excited to finally relax when the season actually begins! Link in bio.
Well, I got myself a new professional headshot, so that means YOU get a Friday introduction!
I'm Lea. Hi. Wife, mom, stationery designer, amateur letterer, wannabe font designer, Orthodox Christian, West Virginia native, Ohio resident, exceptional last-minute-when-company-is-coming housekeeper with a passion for gifs, food, the indoors and pretty much all things pop culture (not necessarily in order of importance or relevance in my life, but, eh, pretty close.). I love love love the work that I get to do and especially being a part of the amazing, talented, kind and caring @minted community. Designing - and designing stationery in particular - is more than a profession for me; it's a passion. And I love that I've found a group of people - so very diverse in background, experience, aesthetic - who get it. The portrait is from Camp Minted last month where nearly 200 of us came together and I'm still riding that high of getting to be in the presence of so much awesome creativity and zero ego. I feel like I've fooled them into accepting me into their ranks (don't tell).
I love how versatile this invitation is. It can be used for a beach wedding, country wedding or wedding with no theme at all. It’s available exclusively @minted and has lovely matching items. https://bit.ly/2PVRu3E
Time. It comes and goes so fast. There’s never enough of it. And if you don’t spend your time wisely it will steal away your special moments in the blink of an eye. We can’t slow time down but WE can slow down. Sit in the moments for a little longer and appreciate LIFE instead of just running from one thing to the next. As my boys get older I think about this more and more....
So exactly how do you work together? We get that question all the time. Dustin and I went to college together and both studied art. We’ve been married for 14 years so we know each others style well. For @Minted we formulate our own ideas and then sometimes finish each others work. Or add to it. We share a camera and sometimes aren’t sure who took what picture. Dustin does more fine art and I do more stationery. There isn’t always overlapping but there often is. And that’s pretty much how it goes. Any other questions? 📸: @minted
Where I come from mushroom picking is something you do on the reg, and then you bring them home and prepare a meal with them. When I was little I learned pretty quick which were “bad mushrooms” and which were “good mushrooms”. Bad ones always looked more interesting 😜 Another design for Potterybarn x Minted challenge 🤞🏻
Last month, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to participate in a @minted photo/video shoot to capture some of my work process. Judging from the proofs, I only have 2 expressions: Serious Focus or Maniacal Laughter 😆 Today, you get my Work Face. •
Getting these proofs reminded me how cool it is to work alongside so many talented artists and designers, and for such a fun, supportive company. I’ve made so many wonderful friends, and I can’t express how grateful I am to be a part of this creative community ❤️
What's on the curing rack? Oats & honey bars! Organic oats are skin soothing, help ease itching and have a mild exfoliating effect. Organic coconut milk, abundant in fatty acids, offers great cleansing ability with excellent hydration properties. Honey is an effective humectant for the skin and is sourced locally here in Nova Scotia.🐝 Available online.
I’m so proud to announce my design ‘joyful holidays’ won an editors’ pick in @minted’s what a bright time holiday challenge. There were a total of 6,868 entries! So many gorgeous designs by some very talented Minties. Check them out www.minted.com/lp/holiday-challenge-winners
Oh, this happened too! Thirteenth place in the biggest @minted challenge of the year! This one was among my favourites that I submitted, but I didn't expect it would have quite the reaction it did.
It's funny in a way that I've come back to watercolours - I remember being particularly fond as a kid, then in high school it was my preferred medium. I couldn't really get the hang of oil nor acrylic paints, but I always loved the inherently fluid, unpredictable nature of watercolours. For a while I used the set I inherited from my grandma - she was such a huge creative influence on me growing up and in her later years was particularly fond of watercolours.
I ended up purchasing the set I use now when I was spending my first semester of college abroad, in London. I didn't have any art classes that term and wanted the comfort of creativity - it was my first time out of the country, let alone living away from home!
Now, seven years later, I'm back in London. My life is very different from then, but some things don't change all that much! .
Peaceful pink #watercolor koi swimming on your wall 💗 Love this one. The original pair are swimming in my studio but the painting is available if anyone is interested, 12”x12”, $150. Send me a note!😉💌 #gardenofedin#minted#art
I typically hate pictures of myself, and you will never ever catch me taking a selfie, but thanks to @minted and @hellogabyj , I have some new headshots that I’m actually happy to use!
Side note: during the shoot, I became super concerned that I would look naked in these headshots if they were only taken from the shoulders up because that’s exactly what happened on my old college ID when tube tops were in. 🤦🏼♀️
It's here!! It almost killed me to wait till @minted 's 2018 holiday collection launched to share this baby. This is easily the card I was most attached to this year and I will admit to being way to pleased with myself for coming up with this the night before the deadline! I went all in on theme. All the color choices are named after taco toppings (hot sauce, blue corn, guacamole, black bean, Pico de Gallo, and refried beans) and the backer features tortilla chips. Even the envelope liner has lines of mini-tacos. Plus, TACO STAMPS. I know, I'm out of control. "Because Tacos" is now available on the first page of Minted's holiday assortment (and a direct link is in my profile). Also, if tacos aren't your thing, you can choose alternate greetings like "peace love + eggnog" for Christmas, "peace love + candy" for New years or "peace love + hope" for something a little more traditional.
We interrupt the regularly scheduled programming for...horses! It’s @minted children’s art contest time. Raise your hand if you ever had a horse obsession ✋. My inner kid can’t wait to see how this one turns out, because PINK HORSE.
