Excerpt from "Temporary Structures (Yakity Sax)", 2015. I was lucky to show this at CSA Space in Vancouver. It runs for just over 2 minutes. These little sculptures were completed quickly and documented at each stage of transformation. A selection of these images were printed as 4x4 grids in the series "Temporary Structures I-IV" and were featured as part of the Or Gallery's NADA exhibition some years ago. As still photographs they work in one way, but when Benny Hill is brought into it comedy takes over. Often I think that sculpture loses one thing when viewed through the lens of the camera but gains something else in the process - something potent and exciting.
