Rest days look like 14mile walk, 5hr 20min in time, 1160 calories burnt according to Fitbit and 1000m climb and not even a Munro ⛰to tick off a calendar 📆 🍦 slide down nicely now just a 🍺 to find #coacheslife#mountainwalk#milleniumcross#skopje
My schedule hasn’t been harmonious to check out many places of interests because they close by 18:00.
I decided to spend the dusk at a place listed as a “hidden gem” in the Walkative tour map - Gora Gradowa. It’s the highest elevation to the center of Gdansk. Don’t get excited; it’s only a hill.
This hill lies on the west side of the main station. There are fortifications from the Prussian times as well as the Millennium cross.
It’s a nice change of scenery and you get a panorama view of the surrounding but not great for photos at least while daylight persists. Main Town is too far away.
There is some kind of an interactive museum but I couldn’t figure out what.
Came across some abandoned building on my way down. The area looked to be a place for the teens to come and do stuff teens are not allowed to do.
Day 304. Skopje, Macedonia. Took a bus then cable car up Vodno Mountain to the Millennium Cross. The cross is 66 meters tall and the largest cross in the world (supposedly). It's at the highest point on Mt. Vodno, 1,066 meters above sea level. The bus was free and the cable car was $2 each. One of the best things we've done on our trip. Beautiful views! Lots of different wild flowers. The best Do Not Enter sign we've ever seen. In Skopje (the capital city) there is a horse drawn wagon sign. Not sure if that's for a stop or lane🤔. #skopje#macedonia#milleniumcross#mtvodno#cross#mountains#mountainview#wildflowers#cablecar#streetsigns#donotenter#blessed#travel
