Alice is Anxious
Alice had not looked at a clock 🕰️ when the man went to fetch the doctor. She did not know what time he had left but the sun 🌞 had been high in the sky, it was now making its descent. Alice felt as though he had been gone for many hours, but she knew that time was simply going slower for her. Because of the stress of the situation, waiting in anticipation expanded and stretched each minute and each hour. Alice had busied herself performing tasks, but now she had done all she could. Alice had stopped the infection of the wound for now, nor had it bled for some time, but it would need to be sutured shut to promote healing. She did not have the necessary tools nor the knowledge to perform such a feat. Masani may also need blood, Alice would be willing to donate her own blood, however, such a thing would be potentially harmful and ill-advised since foreign blood had been known to give diseases if the blood was not pure or of matching sequence. Alice dared not risk it if it meant additional complications to Masani's health. There was nothing else she could do with the resources available to her so she searched the man's library, hoping that he would not mind if she did some reading.
