Repost from @hypertrophycoach 🙏🏽 It always makes me giggle (yes, I giggle - like a schoolgirl) when someone says something about “my style” of training. And then put a bunch of words in my mouth I’ve never said. I’m not an advocate of: tempo, time under tension, slow training, squeezing, going light, not using too much weight, etc.
I’m an advocate of making training as absolutely hard as possible...FOR YOUR TRAINED MUSCLE. Swinging doesn’t make it harder, it makes it easier. Bouncing doesn’t make it harder (except for whatever joint or part of a machine your bouncing off of). Moving, shaking and involving muscles other than the train muscles/joints isn’t harder, (it makes it look like a lot is going on), but you’re just letting a lot of other stuff help aside form the trained muscle.
There’s really only one type of person that thinks my “style” of training is anything other than brutally hard, and that’s those that haven’t trained with me.
If you like swinging and throwing weights, using as many muscles as possible, that’s cool, if you enjoy it. If it’s your hobby. I call that “jogging with weights”. Feels globally hard, burns calories and is an orthopedic nightmare. But if you like building as much muscle as possible, then train “my style”. As hard and horrible as possible for your trained muscle. Use PR form, with PR loads, and enjoy PR muscle growth.
Wana give a huge thank you to the three coaches in these pictures. @dukeroufus for being a great head coach and always being involved wih his fighters, coach @scottcushman for helping me everyday with my striking for this camp, @danielswbjj for helping me improve and sharpen up my jiu jitsu, and @joenicols (sorry we didnt get a picture) for holding mitts for me. Thank you to every coach and every single teamate for prepping me for this fight. I can’t wait to go out and let all the skills we worked on shine friday night at #LFA50#mainevent#middleweight#championship#AllInAllen#BrendanAllen#Roufusport#WanderleyBJJ#SupaStotsWrestling#BiggieStyleWrestling
