Being an actor people always ask me, "what's your favourite film?", which is the hardest to answer, cause there's a million. Even getting to my top 10 is a challenge, and it's always changing. But the one that's stayed consistent and is rooted deep in my heart since I was a kid is Back To The Future (on so many levels).
For starters, at a very young age - it was the first time I realized I wanted to be an actor. Technically I said I wanted to be Michael J. Fox, but that pretty much meant the same thing right? The mind blowing time travel theme, dealing with a lack of self confidence and overcoming your fears, trying to fix your parents' relationship, re-writing your future. There's a reason why this film still resonates with so many people over 30yrs later.
This past Saturday I finally got to see #bttf on the big screen for the FIRST TIME (first viewing was in a school gym at a summer Day Camp, 30 kids staring at a 32" tube TV on a stand, not the same experience). Was I ecstatic sitting amongst die hard fans, with their kids (which is a testament to how timeless this film really is)? Hell YES!?! Did I get a little teary eyed throughout the movie? Yes, but that's because I was overcome with emotions, I mean - something was in my eye...
