Don't know if there is any wider space than that between #dismalsuburbia (represented in many many corners of #nyc ) and the #bluepacific . But, if I look hard enough and sit still enough to get lost, the brutally planned concrete non-designs in this very breezy quiet almost become waves breaking on shore. Nah.
#MichaelFranks "Blue Pacific"
"Here I am: "Hometown Boy Makes Good"
Writes one critic.
All my childhood I lived
By the blue Pacific.
Anytime that reality
Makes me heartsick
I come here just to stare
At the blue Pacific"
My partner & I celebrated my birthday with a joyful #labryinthwalk . .......................................
The labyrinth is often approached with a serious attitude. It is walked in a slow, solemn, deliberate manner. This is certainly one way of walking, and I have found it to be very centering & healing. However, the labyrinth can also be used in a joyous manner. It can be a place of celebration. .......................................
When I work with couples, I invite them to walk into the labyrinth individually, yet at the same time, meet in the center and then find a way to walk out together, in contact with each other.
Do they play and dance their way through the decisions that walking the path together brings or do they argue and compete for the lead? “Who trusts?” “Who joins?” Who controls? “Who has self-doubt?” Also, in relationships, we are together, apart, distant, coming and going, sometimes meeting and joining, wondering where the other is going, a cyclic pattern is created in our couplings.
There is no right or wrong way.
But rather what feels right in the moment.
Arriving in the center, we had no idea what the other would do or feel. This experience can enhance relaxation, intuition, communication, peacefulness & a joyful celebration meeting together.

I can't tell you what this means to me. I have been a fan of Michael Franks music since I was around 14 years old, hearing him on the jazz station CD101.9. I bought every CD of his and spent many nights listening to his music under the covers obsessively. I was very lucky to get to know Michael and especially his wife Claudia as adults and consider her a close friend I love deeply. They have supported all my animal rescues, have been very generous, donate some of Michael's concerts to animal rescues and are just two of the most beautiful people I know. I am so touched they included my name in the CD since I am still a huge fan of Michael's, listen to him almost every day and kind of idolize him. He's played with everyone from Miles Davis to Astrid Gilberto to Dizzy and Walter Becker and I'm so lucky to have them both as friends. And my name is in the new CD which I can't believe! #michaelfranks

But sing the song, forgotten for so long
and let the music flow
like light into the rainbow
we know the dance, we have
we still have the chance
to break this chains and flow
like light into the rainbow 🌈 #michaelfranks#holidays
