We long for the unknown. The unseen. The undiscovered.
We desire to find something we’ve never touched before. Our heart pulls us in the direction of adventure, yet we find ourselves content with keeping to the walls of comfort. If we are to experience adventure, we tell ourselves, it will come to us.
Yet living our life like this is unsatisfying and dull. We pass each day the same as the last until we discover out life has left us behind. Embrace the arms of the unknown. Step out of your comfort zone. There is so much more waiting for us beyond our platform of safety.
Step out and make the decision to live an adventurous life.
Ever so softly the world tilts away, clouds rushing in to recover the vacant space. Weightless in the oblivion, the chilled wind rushes past us bringing with it the scent of faraway places. Falling away from all that we have ever known, adventure embraces our racing heart as we leave behind the sight of home. .
There we stand, facing the empty nothingness. It calls to our heart stirring up a desire to jump faithfully into the arm of the abyss. Yet our hearts are tied down to the comfort of home, the safety in staying in the well-known boundaries. Within us battles an unseen battle one side longs for the known the other side for the unknown.
Standing on that ledge our eyes fix on the cloudy distance, there isn’t a clear image of what might be ahead. There might be unforeseen evils lurking just out of sight. By staying within the boundaries of what we already know we can foresee what will come and what will happen. We get stuck in the rut of living each day exactly the same.
Our life continues on and we sit there watching the clouds move by wondering when the next exciting moment will happen. If only we were to step out, lean a little to0 far back or reach a tiny bit more than we should, then we could embrace the arms of adventure. As we teeter on that ledge, the unknown calls to us, daring us to join it. Step away from comfort. Leave it in your wake.
Embrace the unknown. Find joy in not knowing where your next step will lead you. This is living life to its fullest, rushing ahead with a soul set on finding the next adventure. Live life not knowing what will happen tomorrow, escape from your comfort zones and your routines. They will only hold you back.
Dare to step out into the oblivion.
I have had the pleasure of working with @baileyspencerhardware three times now. It is such a blessing to work with people who are both amazingly nice but also have incredibly beautiful things.
The door was one of hundreds that they had upstairs in their historic building and once I saw I couldn’t wait to shoot it. All the texture it contained and the finger prints imbedded in the wood, it is a tiny section of history waiting for people to admire its beauty.
Many metalheads despised this album, some called it "total crap" or "unlistenable" etc. Well, I think the very opposite. I also can understand of their point of view, because in comparison to the Morbid's previous releases, this album is so different. In its beginning there's a quite annoying bounce in a song called "Too extreme!", and there's also a couple industrial-like sounds, for example "Radikult" reminds me of Marilyn Manson style, but for me, in it's entire, this album is still a portion of a great, brutal and extreme Death Metal that kicks ass! I've found my personal favourites in this artwork and I really like this Morbid Angel's masterpiece in some unique way. You may disagree with me, but actually I don't care. Maybe, for some narrow minded buttheads it might be too extreme...
