#andsisterssays Let’s change the vocabulary around periods. #Periods are the key to life. Buy period products. Don’t let them say they are sanitary products. We are not dirty because we menstruate. Our bodies deserve love, respect and dignity. ❤️🙏🏼🙌🏼
If you're interested in using clothe pads, here is how you can keep them looking new longer without harsh chemicals.
1. Avoid fabric softener or fragrances. These can make your pads less absorbent, and can contribute to irritation.
2. Don’t use bleach. It degrades the fabric, especially the area around the snap. Using bleach is the quickest way to wear out your pads!
3. Pre-soak in a soaking container before washing to keep your cloth pads stain-free. Adding a little Bac-Out is a great idea, too. Always change the soaking water every day or they’ll get smelly!
4. Always wash in cold water. Cold water helps prevent staining, doesn’t stress the cotton fibers, and is better for the environment and your energy bill! Everybody wins.
5. Stock up. The more cloth pads you have, the fewer times each one gets used during your cycle, giving you more time before you need to replenish your stash. And when you buy a GladRags Kit you’ll spend less than if you bought each pad individually, saving you even more cash!
6. Use less detergent. Most of us use way more detergent than we need to — and more detergent does not equal more clean! The excess will build up on your pads, reducing their absorbency and making them wear out more quickly.
7. Line dry outside or on a drying rack. The heat of a dryer slowly damages cloth pads, shortening their lifespan. Plus, if you dry outside, the sun will act as a natural stain fighter! If you prefer to use the dryer, always choose the lowest setting.

We came as carriers of the stories we and our ancestors actually lived. We are. Some of us are still catching up to what we are. We do not become artists. We came as artists. We are. Queen's menstrual cup is a type of reusable feminine hygiene product. It's a small, flexible funnel c-shaped cup made of silicone that you insert into your vagina to catch and collect period fluid. Cups can hold more blood than other methods, leading many women to use them as an eco-friendly alternative to sanitary pad.
I purchased my first #menstrualcup the #divacup and the #lunette and my first #clothpads 14 years ago, when I wanted to try something different. I learned about the dangers of conventional #tampons and pads two years later, when I was writing my senior thesis in college about alternative menstrual products.
Conventional tampons and pads contain dioxin, which is a toxic chemical linked to #endometriosis in a study done on rhesus monkeys in the 90s. And tampon and pad companies are not required by law to list all of their ingredients.
Some of the most absorbant tissue lies inside your vagina. Why would you want to put something that contains toxic chemicals in it? So, I thought I had found my solution to a safe and natural period......
Yet the strong suction my menstrual cups create nagged me for years. I started to use them less and less and started using organic tampons more. The strong suction concerned me because I had a never been pregnant friend who had a #uterineprolapse and I was worried about the same thing happening to me.
My worries were valided in my #merciertherapy training when our instructor told us that a reusable menstrual cup contributed to one of her clients developing a #uterineprolapse#postpartum . This really made me concerned and validated the concern I had had for awhile. ❤
So I threw away my reusable menstrual cups and continued to use reusable cloth pads and organic tampons. ❤
If you are concerned about your health and the environment, I suggest you look into other products. Period panties such as #thinxunderwear , reusable cloth pads and menstrual discs (such as #flexfit or #softcup ) may be a good option for you. ❤
While flexfit and softcup don't recommend reusing their product, I bet you could soak them overnight in hydrogen peroxide after your period is done, dry them thoroughly and use for your next cycle.

These guys have all been a part of my routine for the last month, so I thought I’d share. I dig simplicity and usefulness and don’t do a whole lot of fancy. 🙋🏼♀️
They’re great stocking stuffers or you know what? Just treat yo self.
You guys! I’ve used my @mylenacup for 3 cycles and I’m pissed at myself for not switching over before. I seriously love everything about it. Bonus: you can track how much you’re bleeding and you never have to throw away a tampon again.
Me and the bc are old pals, but for months he was just sitting there all unhappy and unused. The past month I’ve been using my ancient healing clay for baths, scalp masks, armpit detoxes and face masks and I’ve gotta say, i missed it!
Shhhh! This is a secret. Did you know honey has enzymes that heal and regenerate the skin? Raw honey masks are my staple. Mix it with turmeric and you’ve got an anti inflammatory/testosterone blocking mask.
Rosewater is a high vibration, delicious smelling elixir that can be used as perfume/body spray, facial toner and a gentle morning cleanser. I also love adding it to my bath for an extra special treat. Smelling like a rose is only for goddesses (hate to break the news, but you are one 😉)
🖤DARK CHOCOLATE BAR🖤
This extra dark @eatingevolved chocolate bar is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants that nourish gut bacteria. Cacao is also rich in magnesium to live on those hormones. Plus, can I just appreciate how divine it tastes dipped in coconut butter and/or peanut butter? Drool.
Do you guys have any favorites that you discovered this month? Please share! You always have the best ideas 🙌🏼🙌🏼

🚨🚨#TMI fellas...👉🏽keep scrolling!
Let’s be honest ladies...that time of the month can be BRUTAL.
The cravings...the mood swings...and cramps.
I would have to say dealing with tampons, pads & panty liners may just be the worst part of it all! 😭
Today a miracle happened and this girl 🙋🏽♀️ finally got the guts to try the @thedivacup . I purchased it over two years ago and up until now couldn’t muster up the courage to try it for the first time.
Let me be clear, I spent a couple hours of my day doing research and watching YouTube tutorials until I got my confidence up. 😎
I’m curious girls,have you tried?
If you haven’t tried a menstrual cup (ew...I know) do some research and get you one! Pretty sure my life is forever changed and I can’t believe I waited this long to try for myself. I’ll be sure to share updates in my stories so stay tuned! 💗#divacup .

“Reclaiming menstrual wisdom involves women envisioning a new and more positive way of thinking and talking about the menstrual experience to ourselves, our daughters, and to the men in our families” ~Christiana Northrop, M.D
I’ve wanted to repost this photo for months and have held back because of fears of how it will be received - I was overly concerned that it might scare people from using a menstrual cup. Or from listening to what I have to say because they’re grossed out. I’m still a little worried about this and my hearts racing a bit as I get ready to post. I’m choosing to share anyways in order to encourage & perpetuate menstruation positivity.🌟 Trying to tone it down helps no one ! .
Truth is I love this photo- I find it beautiful and I want to support others In seeing the beauty I see now. ♥️ I get it, being grossed out by bloody fingers. I used to be grossed out by my blood when I used tampons that produced oders. When I switched to the cup, I realized my blood ❣️ does not smell bad by default- it happens when absorbed on fabric which is a great breeding ground for Bacteria. So I gradually started appreciating my blood and admiring it.✨Remembering that it is sacred & powerful- not waste and toxins. .
Using a reusable menstrual cup requires you to develop an intimate relationship with your body & your blood which is incredibly empowering✨reusable menstrual cups are more than just a product you put up your vagina to collect your blood. They’re a tool that supports self understanding, self exploration, a deep meaningful relationship with your Yoni & her cycle. It invites you to connect with the divine feminine & to fall in love with yourself. ♥️
Sassy Spots allows me to inspect my own body. To navigate my way through my female identity and what preconceptions I may have.
In this documentation I look at my own period and what my blood looks like. 👀
If you don't fancy seeing a lot of gooeyness in a menstrual cup, and have the same strange reaction I have, then I guess the next question is why?.... #sassy#SASSYSPOTS#menstrualcup#periodblood

These simple little products are such an amazing invention for anyone who menstrates! I've been using my @mooncupltd for a few years now and they're so easy and convenient - soooo much better for the environment, so helpful for travelling around, no risks of toxic shock syndrome and I no longer have to spend any money on pads or tampons. (At risk of sounding like I'm jerking myself off (really not my intention)) I bought this one today (from @naturalfoodcompany (support your local businesses ✌️)) to donate to a food bank and I really hope it can make things a little easier for someone since it's one less thing to worry about buying each month. If you've got a spare £20 it's such a valuable contribution that could make a big difference so please consider it! 💞
Because we should not be ashamed to talk about our periods. Yes as a Mother of Girls I have come to the stage where my eldest has started to need feminine Hygiene products. We live a predominantly waste free life and besides that I have a huge problem with all the crap they put into disposable products. We are so overwhelmed with all the amazing choices there are for reusable menstrual products and so excited that we have other options other than store bought disposable products. @lunettecup @yuukicup @rubycup are the brands we are going to try. #Periods#WasteFree#MenstrualCup#WasteFreePeriod#MomLife#MomWithTeens#ReusableMenstrualProducts

Hey @ubykotex, I know you are better than this, and I have faith that you will make this right in the spirit of health, and not commerce. I’m a bit sad about this because @kccorp has donated to @happyperiodorg before. I’ll remain positive about it because menstrual health needs to be taken more seriously. This is why I do this work. This is why we have to be conscious of our bodies. This is why we have to be strict on companies that make products for us. We have to power to make them DO BETTER! No more chemicals in our pads or tampons. No more synthetic fibers, only organic cotton. Mandatory ingredient or product label to confirm what the product is made out of. Its going in our vagina, we have full rights to know what it’s made of. Everybody do your research about this. I say take this time to dig into the clean products that are now available to us, because of some new amazing brands! Any thoughts? Actually, tag your favorite organic menstrual care brand/product below!

Another recall that is affecting ring women’s personal hygiene supplies. Have you ever considered switching to using a menstrual cup such as the Diva Cup? I switched over about a year and a half ago and have never looked back. #womenshealth#menstrualcup

Since I’m on a “menstruation” talk kick 😂
Help a sister out. I’m looking to purchase a #menstrualcup and I’m curious on YOUR thoughts experiences with them and/or certain brands. I’m leaning towards Pixie Cups, but I’d love to hear some feedback before I jump in.
Holaa a todos!! Feliz jueves 💚
