Some days are for choosing the marathon dot painting during nap time over changing out of pyjamas.
I want to say deadlines motivate me but also just surrendering to inspired creating especially during rare naps!
Pleased to tell you all that I’ve just uploaded three new paintings to my Etsy store (link to store is in my Bio). Framed and ready to hang, they measure 23.3cm sq (frame; painting itself is 20cm sq). $50 each with free postage & packing within Australia.
I get really excited when stuff like this happens. When happy accidents of materiality feed theories of psycho-geography; forming junctures of body and land, emotion and geology.
This is the other side of a custom #heartstonependant in the works, and still that warm bodily glow from the sun passing through pigment!
An unintention, unexpected bi-product of playing with new (quality) pigments. The beauty of using _real_, ground, powder pigments, ey.. vivid surprises.
✨MIDWEEK MENTAL Week 2✨ Welcome to another segment of my midweek mental health chat where I open up my Instagram to talk about mental health and mental illness.
This week I want to talk about miscarriage and baby loss. Please be forewarned that if you have been through such an experience, this post may trigger some feelings you don’t want to experience. If you want to not read any further, that’s okay. I understand ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As with depression and anxiety, it’s incredibly common (1 in 4 women will experience it) and we don’t talk about it so much. We should. I believe that it can help others who experience the loss of a baby to feel less alone, to feel like someone understands, and to heal. .
There is nothing like the emotions and the grief that you feel when your baby dies. The emptiness, the longing, the feelings of failure, like it’s your fault, like your body has let your baby down. It can rob you of the joy of pregnancy too. If you have ever lost a baby, no matter how far along in your pregnancy you were, you will be well aware of how it can affect your long-term mental health and result in depression, anxiety, and/or PTSD. That has been the case for me. I’ll talk in the comments about my own experience with miscarriage and how losing my baby affected my mental health. .
Have you ever lost a baby? How did it affect you? Were you supported by medical professionals? Do you know anyone who has lost a baby during pregnancy (either miscarried, stillborn, or after birth)? You can share your experiences and/or thoughts in the comments or start your own conversation on your Instagram profile using the hashtag #midweekmentalwIthk Remember, I’m here to support you, as I’m sure everyone else who has experienced baby loss is too ❤️ .
Please remember this is a judgement free zone. Please be kind and caring towards each other when commenting.
MIDWEEK MENTAL is a new weekly segment I have started here on my Instagram account in order to help raise awareness of mental illness, to help erase the stigma against people who suffer from mental illness, and to help sufferers to feel supported and understood. .

Quote II from the 27 Club Dress. Of course I had the opportunity to post this on Amy’s birthday, but didn’t. Life is like that sometimes.
