Normandy Park is close to SeaTac airport. Just a reminder that it’s still tick season. Ticks love to hang around pumpkin patches. And yes we do have Lyme disease in Washington state. It says so on CDC and Washington Health Department websites. We even have a variety of tick species such as this one, which are known to transmit Lyme. A quick google search turned up this case study from 1987 about a girl bitten by this same species in Redmond, WA, who developed a bulls eye rash indicative of Lyme disease. Yet to this day, patients in WA are gaslighted and denied treatment for Lyme disease. Doctors tell them there is no Lyme in Washington. That they must have contracted it elsewhere or else test results must be a false positive. Doctors refuse to report positive Lyme test results to CDC on these untenable grounds. I know first hand. After I received Lyme positive results (by CDC standards I was neither positive, nor negative but inconclusive and warranted further testing) and tested positive for multiple coinfections. Still the PCP I visited at Kaiser for an unrelated reason reviewed my results. Conversation went something like this. Her: There is no Lyme in Washington state. Have you been near Connecticut? Me: No. Aside from 3 days in a college dorm room in Massachusetts in 2011 or so, I have not. Her: Where else have you been? Me: Well of course I love to travel, I have been many times to Europe, once to Japan and Ecuador. Her: Oh then you must have gotten it in one of those places. We don’t have it here. 🤨😠 #Lyme#lymediseaseawareness#washingtonstate#seattle#lymeiseverywhere#lymeisinwashingtonstate#seatac#normandypark#ticks#ixodesangustus#gaslighting#medicalnegligence#kaiserpermanente#redmondwashington#cdc#seattleparks

(Remembering SAM💓)The Sting Of Death Is Never Easy!🙏🏼Today my girls (our family) family lost their aunt & this amazing soul due to medical negligence. Please if your loved ones are saying they are ill, need help and the doctors aren’t listening find another and another until help arrives. Please pray for her husband and her two young sons that she leaves behind. She was just amazing and a rock for her family. Please make sure you love on your loved ones. Time is not promised, nor is it our friend. But it is a clear reminder that we must respect it. That we must love hard on those who are given to us by God in this lifetime. We need to lay down our petty beefs. And....We must never let the world forget our loved ones, their smile, the gift they were to us and the legacy they leave behind. My mind is still trying to wrestle with the thought of this. I’m praying for all who lost some one they love today. Tell your family, friends and even someone you don’t know who needs it that you love them. Be a light! Though heartbroken for the family, her kids and my husband: I am reminded that God your ways are not our ways and your thoughts are not our own. You are always in control and may your peace fill us and surround us in these times of pain! #goneneverforgotten#wewillmissyousam 💜🙏🏼 #thespirituallifecoach#medicalmalpractice#death#rip#sunday#pray#prayer#wife#mother#pain#life#dark#death#family#sundays#failure#medicalnegligence#iud#birthcontrol
The officials conducting a surprise spot check of California's Huntington Hospital in August of 2015 discovered something much different than they were expecting when they found what they called a "'top to bottom' failure of patient #safetyprocedures .
Failures included not sanitizing scopes used in medical procedures, resulting in 16 unreported infections between 2013 and 2015. 11 of those ended in death. The hospital violated California laws by not reporting a breakout of a drugs resistant infection.
A #medicalmalpractice attorney for three of those patients said the medical records showed they got an infection after a procedure using a certain type of scope. Instead of citing this untreatable infection as the cause of death, problems such as heart failure & pancreatic cancer were named as the culprits.
There was an investigation & the design of the scope was blamed for being tough to clean, as well as the hospital having a lack of control over infections.

Real life story: Lisa Kirby suffered the heartbreak of losing her baby daughter in 2014 – the baby was stillborn, even though Lisa had been to the Royal Berkshire Hospital the previous week to raise her concerns about pain and discomfort she was suffering. #medicalnegligence#stillbirth#blaw2018
I am incredibly proud to announce that today the French supreme court canceled the decision from the court of appeal of Aix-en-Provence which had declared in 2015 that TUV had no responsibility for PIP breast implants illegally inserted into over 400,000 women worldwide. in 2010 the scandal broke when it was discovered CE certified breast implants used in cosmetic and medical surgical cases (including NHS cancer survivors) across the world contained industrial silicone and ingredients not fit for human use. As a result of this the implants failed, many leaking industrial silicone and chemicals into women. 8yrs later we are now winning the fight for justice, today in Paris has been a huge victory. Now we must appeal for as many women affected by this to come forwards and join us in the fight for justice and compensation for such severe medical negligence which has sadly taken innocent lives and led to hundreds of thousands suffering and living in fear - myself included. Personally my breasts collapsed, twisted, hardened, burned and leaked leaving me struggling to breathe, unable to lift anything, my lymph nodes hardened and daily pain and discomfort. It destroyed my self confidence, my body confidence and femininity and cost me far more financially, emotionally and physically than the initial private surgery fees ------------------------

WORLD CEREBRAL PALSY AWARENESS DAY
How Are Children with Cerebral Palsy Physically Benefited By Exercise?
Children with cerebral palsy are working actively on strengthening their muscles, and also on balance and gait. Daily exercises work on the balance and the strength that eventually leads to the focus on gait. Working on their gait not only adds to their endurance and general exercise-related wellness, but it allows them to learn how to be more independent, which will be physically better for them in the long run.
When any child takes the time to exercise, they usually sleep better, feel better, and are more alert. Children with cerebral palsy can enjoy the same benefits, and biggest and most influential reason for having your children with cerebral palsy exercise is because as they get stronger, their overall coordination and balance can greatly improve.
While it might be occasionally frustrating or discouraging when they miss a step or miss a point in therapy, the exercises and practice get them up to a point when they can walk on their own, or at least walk with the aid of a walker. This is perhaps one of the biggest and most important goals for a child with cerebral palsy not only because their prognosis and long-term life goals are more free and open, but because they get a sense of independence that they might not otherwise get.
Day 1: Sunrise, Clayton Wa
Caught this shot this morning since there was no visible sunrise in Clayton on the 1st. Very beautiful this morning - I wish I was feeling better to enjoy this beautiful fall day.
I’m coming up on 4 years out from losing my baby girl, it still hurts, I still rage over the injustice of what happened at Providence Sacred Heart Spokane, and i would still do it over again, just to spend another minute with her. Just to give her a shred of a chance, even if it meant losing her later, even if it meant caring for her her whole life. I’d do it again.
Speak up now to curb medical negligence and malpractice. An FCT High Court in Maitama has ordered Kings Care Hospital, Abuja, to pay N1 million as damages to a couple for negligence and breach of care.
The claimants, Bamikole Owolabi and wife, Mercy, had told the court that two ultra-scan reports by the hospital showed that Mercy was pregnant with twins, but gave birth to only a baby.
Owolabi asked the court to compel the private hospital to produce the second baby which the scan report showed.
However, in its counter-affidavit to the suit, the hospital contended that the baby girl Mercy gave birth to was one and weighed 3. 3kg, adding that it was medically impossible for a pair of babies to weigh 3.3kg.
Justice Jude Okeke, however, said the hospital was negligent and liable of breach of care by issuing the claimants with scan results which did not reflect the true status of the pregnancy.
Delivering judgment yesterday, the judge held that the hospital should have conducted an independent test if it later discovered that the earlier scan was wrong.
“Since they did not do that, the claimants still had in mind that they were going to have twins according to the scan of Nov. 21, 2012 and March 13, 2013, but their hopes were dashed.
“In the circumstance, the defendants are ordered to pay a sum of N1 million to the claimants being negligent in the scan reports issued to them and N50, 000 for emerging successful in the suit,” he said. #medicalnegligenceinnigeria#medicalnegligence#medicalnegligenceclaims#medicalnegligenceconferences#medicalnegligencetalks
I am devastated. I read the medical report attached. There’s things missing. The GP appointment, the phone calls to 111 before I even got admitted. It’s like the surgeon who looked at my records have basically said well you knew the risk so therefore what happened to you was normal. But what they don’t know is what my partner and dad was told by the surgeons at the other hospital. What I was told. That I almost died due to this what it’s done to my life. Medical records might say one thing and be basic to what was actually said. Only thing that flags up is the amount of blood I lost for a simple keyhole procedure. I lost 4pints. He’s trying to claim my anastomotic leak happened 27/28th June 2017 but when I was admitted to hospital on 28th I was told the amount found in my abdomen meant it has been there a lot longer than a day. I was also told I had severe septicaemia. That doesn’t say that in the report funnily enough. I feel blown to one side. Then I saw one of the surgeons registrars today not him which gutted me. This registrar wasn’t bothered about my symptoms. The fact I can’t eat without severe bloating pain and feeling sick. That I can’t go to toilet properly. That I have to put my chest to my thighs when I’m sat on toilet to go. That my abdomen hurts way more now than it did before. That I have less energy. She was like this surgery doesn’t fix IBS. I KNOW YOU STUPID COW. But these symptoms are very unusual for me. She thinks I can go back to work. So I’m six weeks post op. Really struggling but apparently I can go back to work in a supermarket and lift things etc. I feel defeated. Last year I saw a registrar I didn’t know he sent me back to work six weeks post op and it all went wrong. I am so fucked off 😢😢
