And today is #medalmonday . Yesterday was tough and my body can feel every once of effort that was given . But as the famous quote says “ When you don’t give up you cannot fail “ . And even though mentally there are times I wanted to just give in . There was no way I was not getting to that end quicker than before . #medalmondays#manchesterhalfmarathon#mcrhalf
Looking at all my friends celebrate with their @chimarathon reminded me to finally frame my favorite medals. Why?!
They both were autographed by living running legends. 🙌🏽
My first marathon - @bmwdallasmarathon. ,Olympian, @nycmarathon & @bostonmarathon winner @runmeb surprised me by signing it. 🙌🏽
For my first world major marathon @tonyreedcpa signed it. 🙌🏽 He’s the 1st African- American to run a marathon on all 7 continents, Hall of Famer, board of @runningusapics and opened the door for so many minorities in distance running. He also signed me up for my first marathon. 😂 .
I don’t keep all my medals but these will be framed and cherished. Both races my mom couldn’t attended but called me the entire race and pushed me through them while Tony waited at the finish line. Truly grateful for my #runfamily . .
While my mom isn’t physically here anymore, I know she is with me spiritually so I continue to run in her honor. That’s why my mantra is MOM (Mind Over Matter) .
Next medal is my 10th half at @route66marathon to ring in my 35th birthday. 🤦♀️ I’m fasting and praying I don’t bawl at the finish line. Excited to see what I learn along this journey to the finish. #justrunalex#medalmondays
Sometimes #medalmondays don’t involve medals but the celebration of what happened on your quick runcation. Every race has its own significance to me...but this one in particular was a redemption race for me. A few years ago I signed up to run this race before I met my core group of running friends. I was a solo runner. This race was a life changing race...and I didn’t even run it. I never made it to Vermont. The details surrounding those circumstances are the reason it was so life changing...
Flash forward to yesterday...I felt so strong, happy and proud running this race with some of the best people I know. Am I still struggling with my life? Of course. We all are in some way. But I’d like to think that by finally running this race I proved to myself that better days are to come...and I hope this serves as another life changing event even if I don’t know why yet. #lovebeerlovelifeharpoon#myglassismymedal#mypretzelismymedal#harpoonoctoberfest#womenrunner#runningbuddies#itsflannelseason#runallthemilesdrinkallthebeer

After a year, here he is, slaying one beast at a time with his passion to be strong and tough inside out as he strives to inspire people around him to have fun while breaking limits. .
