EGGS- put oil in a pan (coco. Oil) then crack the egg in the pan and let it cook for about 5-6 (or 7) mins. Depending on how cooked you’d like your eggs. 
TOAST & avocado - Meanwhile, toast your bread ( I used multi-fiber gain) then once done toasting grab avocado , cut in half. One half to one slice of toast, the other half to the other toast. Then put your egg on the avocado toast and sprinkle some pepper and salt 😋 (the lime was to just make the picture look cute lol, but your toast will still taste awesome if you put some lime on it!)

Today, I would like to give you some basic guidelines on how you can set up your macros when you are settling to a diet aka producing a caloric deficit. 💪

When dieting, the most important macro is without doubt the good old PROTEIN! There are several reasons why it is so. First, it helps you to retain all (or most of) the hard-earned muscles you gained during your lean bulking phase. Second, proteins are well-known to keep you full for much longer than eating carbs. And last but not least, since you cannot eat as much fats and/or carbs, you have to rely more on protein as your energy source!

Carbs, on the other hand, are SUPER important for your performance in the gym. Therefore, aim to eat a bit less fats, around 15-25% or a minimum of 0.25 grams/lbs (0.5 grams/kg) of bodyweight of your total calories, and eat more of those carbs to sustain your workouts.

Then less carbs = worse performance in the gym
.
Worse performance in the gym = more muscle mass getting lost 💡
.
That’s something nobody wants to happen, me neither.🙈
.
So to sum it up and give you an example: a 180lbs guy with a caloric deficit of 2900 calories, assuming he opts-in for a protein intake of 1.2 grams per pound of bodyweight and 15% of calories are from fats, would then have to eat 216 grams of proteins, 48 grams of fats and 400 grams of carbs on a daily basis.

Weight loss/ fat loss can be very frustrating when you don’t see the results. Sometimes it’s simple fixing that work and others times you must be a detective to figure out the missing link.

Here are 5 reasons I see why people can’t lose weight:

1: They are not in a calorie deficit-

In order to lose weight we need to be in a negative energy balance for the day/week. What I mean is you need to be consuming less calories daily/weekly than your body burns.

Common mistakes people make is they do a good job Monday-Friday but on the weekend they end up consuming enough calories to put your whole week in positive energy balance. Meaning you ended up consuming more calories than your body burns total for the week.

2: You are not moving enough-
.
Just working out for 45-60 minutes 4-5 times a week isn’t always enough. The way you can burn more calories without having to do more exercise is called N.E.A.T (non-exercise associated thermogenesis) this makes up all activity that’s not exercise. What does this mean to you? Work on hitting 10k steps daily 💁🏻‍♂️.

3: You are to stressed 😩-
.
Stress is the silent result killer that not a lot of people are talking about. Chronic stress is usually followed by elevated levels of cortisol 😱. Cortisol isn’t bad but when you have high stress daily it ends up killing your results.

Focus on adding stress reducing activity like walks, sauna, massage, yoga are all good choices.

4: you don’t sleep enough-

Team no sleep = team no results/poor hormonal function. You want to gain weight? Don’t sleep 😴. Sleep is the time your body recharges, builds muscles, repairs, hormones regulate. Work on improving Your sleep and watch what happens.

5: not eating enough protein-

Protein is always an issue with most people. Consuming more protein is going to mean less cravings, full longer, and satisfied longer. Lots of studies show high protein diets are highly successful for weight loss. You should be consuming .7-1.2 grams per pound of weight.

Almond Maple Chicken

Ingredients:
9 oz raw chicken breasts - should yield 6 oz cooked (1 Lean)
2 tbsp Walden Farms pancake syrup (1/2 Condiment)
1/4 teaspoon grated fresh lemon rind (1/2 Condiment)
1/2 teaspoons lemon juice (1/4 Condiment)
1/8 tsp pepper (1/4 Condiment)
10 almonds, chopped (1 Healthy Fat) 
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Place chicken in a shallow baking pan and then sprinkle with pepper. Combine pancake syrup, lemon rind, lemon juice, and almonds in a small bowl. Pour mixture over chicken. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until done.

Reminder for weight loss, you need to be in a calorie deficit; for muscle gain, you need to be in a calorie surplus; and for maintenance, you need to be at a caloric maintenance level.

I recently switched from being on a slight caloric deficit for 2 months in order to lean out, to a slight caloric surplus to do a lean mass gain (booty haha) for a while.

I kept protein high and increased my overall carb intake. Adding whole, nutritious carbs is a great way to help put on muscle, especially if you’re more active. To stay lean, I try to limit my servings of fruit to 2-3 servings and the rest of the carbs comes from starchy carbs.

In this photo, I added 1 cup potato, 2 rice cakes and a banana for an extra 400 calories. You can see how adding or subtracting a few details here and there can help you hit your goals!
