Black Site Studios #prepainted#mdfbuildings are amazing with a lot of character. McKeever’s Pub comes with a bar, shelves some chairs and a table in the kit. Now I am adding in a bathroom and converting the rest of the back room into a kitchen. I also need to find some 28mm bar stools. The city store house is, well storing. The previous mayor kept saying the end was near and was a bit of a prepper. Seems he left caches like this all over the city.
Assembling this little bit of kit. I thought it was just going to be cheap and cheerful but it's cheap and actually really good quality. Nice little bit of terrain. #mdfbuildings#40kterrain#scifiminatures
Somewhere in Holland, December 1944. Attack & Defend scenario to Chain of Command rules. Eagle eyed followers will recognise the map as the 3rd from the Kampfgruppe Von Luck campaign. As most anyone knows setting up a game can take a heck of a lot of time so rather than - especially if the campaign game ends sooner than we'd like! So we decided to play additional one-off games on some of the KGvL maps. It also gave us an excuse to play with some of our other toys. In this game we find a British infantry platoon attempting to eject a German Volksgrenadier platoon from a small village near the Dutch/German border. As the attacker the British player rolls for support level with 2d6 & scores 11 thus getting 10 support points. He chooses a Churchill Crocodile flamethrower AFV for 9 & an adjutant for 1. The German force is rated at -2 versus 0 for the British. They also get 1/2 the support points of the attacker which gives them 7 total support points. The German player chooses a Hetzer Panzerjager 38t AFV for 7 points. The British start the game with 9 force morale and will be attacking from the right of the map through the orchards & open fields. The Germans start with 8 force morale and will be defending the village to the left in the photos. The British must force the enemy to withdraw from the map either by destroying them or breaking their morale whilst keeping their own at 3 or more. Each side end the patrol phase with 3 jump off points (JOP) within their respective areas from which their troops will enter onto the table. Tanks cannot use JOPs to enter the game so use roads on the friendly table edge. #chainofcommand#wargaming#historicalgaming#worldwar2gaming#tabletopgaming#28mm#warlordgames#toofatlardies#militarygaming#28mmscenery#mdfbuildings#4ground#crescentrootstudio
Kampfgruppe Von Luck Game 3: The British get 7 support points for this game. The British player decides to spend 4 a support section to bolster his severely understrength platoon. He spends his final 3 on a flamethrower team. With these limited resources and knowing the German player has 20 support points available he decides his best tactic is to let the enemy come on and attempt to ambush or assault them amongst the buildings out of line of sight of the SP gun he's sure the German player will take. The German player is spoilt for choice in this game. He chooses a 15cm sFH13 auf Lorraine Schlepper (7 points) to help reduce buildings housing the enemy to rubble, 2 full support squads (5 points each) to push his force strength above 50 men and finally, a sniper (3) to hopefully annoy the enemy. The German player's strategy is simple - place the SP gun well back with good line of sight and probe forward with his infantry. Hopefully the enemy will be forced to reveal himself as the grenadier squads close on his JOPs and so allow the German player to utilise the 13 HE firepower of the Lorraine Schlepper to full effect. The fact that he's chosen additional troops shows he expects to lose quite a few men in the confined surrounds of the village. #chainofcommand#wargaming#historicalgaming#worldwar2gaming#Kampfgruppevonluck#modelscenery#tabletopgaming#28mm#warlordgames#reddevils#mdfbuildings#militarygaming
Kampfgruppe Von Luck Game 3 Attacking the Corridor of Death. The Germans now push into Le Bas de Ranville. The main road splits the length of the table with brick houses, stone barns & 8' high walls running along one side and orchards the other. The British will deploy along the top end of the table (the buildings in the opening shots) and Germans the lower end. The German player gets 5 initial moves with his patrol markers which allows him to push further forward thanthe British player would have liked. The German player ends the patrol phase with 2 of his JOPs beyond the cross roads with one placed just behind the farmhouse and the other in the clump of tree to the right of the main road. His last is placed on the house closest to the cross roads. The British player places his first JOP just behind the warehouse to his right of the main road, his 2nd just behind the building standing to the left of the road and his 3rd in the orchard covering his left flank. The British start the game with a force morale of 11 and the Germans 10. #chainofcommand#wargaming#historicalgaming#worldwar2gaming#Kampfgruppevonluck#modelscenery#tabletopgaming#28mm#warlordgames#reddevils#mdfbuildings
Finished 2 buildings now, another half one done(but can't finish due to missing parts) and started on the not yet released Kickstarter exclusive Eightfold Path Beast Wagon, I won in a charity auction :), a very challenging build, but the worst is done I hope.
Had a bit of fun putting a few boxes and models in for photos, looks like a village now!
