It’s another great chest opener for today. I am realizing this week that my chest and shoulders definitely aren’t as flexible as some of the other focus areas have been! That’s the great thing about this challenge though—you see where you could improve and keep working at it!

From a kneeling position, bring your right foot forward so the leg is at a 90 degree angle. Shift your hips forward so you feel the stretch in your left hip flexor. Bring your hands to your lower back for support as you lengthen your spine and lean into a backbend. Bring your left hand down to reach your left leg or heel. Sail the right arm up and back. Open up the chest and take some deep breaths. Be sure to repeat on the other side. @blogilates @poppilatesofficial @popflex_active

“Researchers have been looking at the effects of heat on athletic performance for decades, and their results have been consistently surprising. Studies have found that, in addition to an increased rate of perspiration, training in the heat can increase an athlete’s blood plasma volume (which leads to better cardiovascular fitness), reduce overall core temperature, reduce blood lactate, increase skeletal muscle force, and, counterintuitively, make a person train better in cold temperatures. In fact, heat acclimation may actually be more beneficial than altitude training in eliciting positive physiological adaptations, says Santiago Lorenzo, a professor of physiology at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and a former decathlete at the University of Oregon. “Heat acclimation provides more substantial environmental specific improvements in aerobic performance than altitude acclimation,” he says. And in contrast to the live low, train high philosophy, we more quickly adapt to heat stress than we do to hypoxia. Totally agree with this! There's a reason why matwork is done in bare feet so why shouldn't we exercise with no shoes on or wear socks and shoes that are designed for actual feet. Since doing my gym routines (squats, deadlifts, lunges etc) bare footed; my balance and awareness of my posture has massively improved. It's worth a try 🏋️‍♂️ 🏋️‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♂️

Totally agree with this! There's a reason why matwork is done in bare feet so why shouldn't we exercise with no shoes on or wear socks and shoes that are designed for actual feet. Since doing my gym routines (squats, deadlifts, lunges etc) bare footed; my balance and awareness of my posture has massively improved. Para mí, la más desafiante, la más completa y la más  perfecta forma de conectar la mente, el cuerpo y el espíritu ( entendido como energía)  con el momento presente.
Por carecer de cualquier tipo de asistencia externa a uno mismo, en la cual nos hacemos conscientes de la maravillosa, única e irremplazable herramienta de trabajo con la que contamos y pocas veces apreciamos, hasta que los límites nos lo hacen apreciar... Es que esta modalidad se lleva todos mis elogios.
Quien practique pilates y no haya pasado por la práctica del mat,  carecerá de aquello que dio vida y fue génesis de cualquier desarrollo posterior.
Y a ello se suma lo que quizás más temor nos genera a todos los seres humanos.... El reencuentro con uno mismo. La posibilidad de silenciar la mente, haciéndonos conscientes de las emociones bloqueadas en la vorágine cotidiana... El acto de humildad que surge de reconocer nuestras limitaciones físicas momentáneas y el compromiso consistente de que hay trabajo por hacer si queremos pulir nuestra práctica. En una cultura en la que nos hemos acostumbrado a obtener con la distancia de un "click" todas las respuestas y todo lo que buscamos.... Que hermosa experiencia es volver a esta práctica que nos enseña que el cuerpo tiene otros ritmos y que el éxito va de la mano con la consistencia, que aquí no aplican las leyes del internet y que la satisfacción no es inmediata... Se trabaja, se suda y cuando se logra... Pucha q vale la pena!!!!

So... this picture was taken exactly 1 year apart. Same beach, same bikini and roughly the same standing position. On the left I'm 9 months post partum and feeling good. On the right I'm 18 months post partum and also feeling good. All I'd done in the time taken between both pictures is Pilates. Nothing fancy. Just consistent, slow, controlled matwork to bring my tummy muscles back together and to strengthen my lower back. Slow and steady wins the race 💜

E anche in questo settore è necessario formarsi, aggiornarsi, sperimentare, studiare, leggere e confrontarsi con gli altri per poter offrire un servizio di qualità.

Per qualcuno potrà sembrare una scocciatura, ma quando lo fai con passione ogni occasione è buona per imparare qualcosa di nuovo!

Ed è per questo motivo che sono davvero contento di aver completato il corso da istruttore di Pilates, nonostante avessi già affrontato e sperimento questa disciplina all'università e nonostante la stessi già insegnando da qualche anno.
È stata una bella occasione per aggiungere competenze, consigli e trucchi al mio bagaglio di esperienze e per confrontarmi con altri professionisti del settore.

Matwork o Pilates?

Joseph Hubertus Pilates intraprese l’ideazione delle sue routine di allenamento nella metà del XX secolo attingendo dal suo background sportivo (tai chi, yoga, culturismo, boxe).
La maggior parte del lavoro veniva svolto su un tappetino, da qui il nome matwork, ma grazie alle sue competenze codificò un sistema di allenamento che si avvaleva di molle e cavi montate agli estremi del letto, che consentiva allenamenti anche agli infortunati di guerra, molti dei quali impossibilitati ad eseguire movimenti sui tappetini; nacquerò da queste intuizioni le due grandi macchine del pilates, Cadillac e Reformer.
Con Reformer e Cadillac si pratica ginnastica fitness che consente di isolare meglio il lavoro creando vincoli e assistenze al movimento che mantengono la postura durante tutto il movimento.
Il Matwork ginnastica fitness a corpo libero e con piccoli attrezzi, sfrutta il peso corporeo come resistenza e rende maggiormente coscienti dei propri movimenti. Rieduca la postura e rafforza la colonna vertebrale. 
Fluidità dei movimenti, stabilità, controllo della respirazione e dei movimenti, miglior tono muscolare, miglior bilanciamento, miglioramento della concentrazione e controllo dello stress, sono tutti i miglioramenti ottenibili praticando queste tipologie di ginnastica fitness per il benessere.

Joseph Hubertus Pilates undertook the design of his training routines in the mid-twentieth century drawing on his sports background (tai chi, yoga, bodybuilding, boxing).
