HAPPY 90th BIRTHDAY, Mickey!!! 🎂🎉 Thank you for bringing cheerful laughter to our family everyday, Mickey. Seeing the kids smile & laugh while watching you on tv, is just precious.
If it weren't a start by a mouse, there wouldn't be Disney parks (Disney World), where you share an indescribable magic of happiness & made our eldest feel like living in a dream; in a place with no worries, but fun & full of love day and night. We won't forget his joyful expression in Disney World that last forever in our hearts. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Never can thank you enough for this. 😢💕 May you continue spreading your magic to more people & children for many more years. 💖
In the past 2 weeks, I was kinda busy with kiddo's hospi/ doc appointments, plus the paperworks, parents & teacher meeting for next year enrollment, and crafting invitation at DS' playgroup, etc. I thought I would miss Mickey's Bday, but YAY!!! I'm glad that we managed to celebrate Mickey's 90th bday with the kids & hubby at home. I know that I would need lots of black color, so I took the time to make a homemade natural food color that I THINK it might be safe for DS to consume due to his food intolerance. So I've been drying & grinding all day long to prepare Mickey's body coloring.
I just uploaded the main plate, as it was DS' & my favorite because of the Mickey character. I might also share the other two plates somewhen in the future.
BTW. which ingredient is your favorite to give black color in your food art? For onigiri, I love to use nori sheet. For the mashed potato, I make my own.
If I had to pick one, it would definitely be yams. I haven't tried them in years (I probably should), but I was never a fan. Since I don't eat them anyway, I wouldn't feel like I was missing out.
What would you get rid of?
Who’s ready for Thanksgiving!?!?! I can’t believe it’s only 4 days away 🤗
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because I love food and I absolutely love my family and friends 💕 I’m already thankful that the potato master @morganhandmaderations will be making some spud-tacular mashed potatoes for our Thanksgiving dinner. If you don’t have a potato master coming to your dinner, here’s a fun way to incorporate essential oils into your holiday meal 🦃🥔 .
4 medium Yukon gold potatoes
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons oil
1 small red onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 drops Rosemary oil
½ cup milk
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
1. Place potatoes in pot with enough salted water to cover. Cook 30 minutes or until tender and drain.
2. Add butter to potatoes and set aside.
3. Add oil, garlic, and onions to skillet and cook until tender.
4. Mash potatoes with onion mixture, milk, Rosemary oil, and salt and pepper to taste.
So I was doing box jumps yesterday and fell and some girl saw me 😅 my wrist is feeling pretty weird but it’ll buff 🙂 who’s been doing extra cardio to prepare for all of the turkey and mashed potatoes you’ll be inhaling in a few days? 🙋🏻♀️
First round of Thanksgiving with my little turkeys 🦃 🦃. One of my boys spit out mashed potatoes 😱 and the other only ate a turkey leg..🙄. Really wondering at this point where they came from 🤷🏻♀️http://liketk.it/2yk4d #liketkit @liketoknow.it #LTKholidaystyle#LTKfamily#LTKkids#LTKunder50
Ended my @restaurantwkja food experience at the @brewdawakeningsja. I’ve continually been impressed with the deals and meals served this week. Their ribs with mashed potatoes, corn and sautéed veggies was unbelievably priced at $1400! #rwja2018#lovetonyam 🍽
My lovely paper plate from a wonderful Friendsgiving last night🥂
I always love hosting potluck events and everything was absolutely DELISH😋😋
Food always tastes better when paired with good people, good conversation, and a glass of wine😁 There is so much to be said about the power of eating happy!
Side note: We had a turkey-less friendsgiving because, let's be real, Thanksgiving is all about the sides 👏👏 ...and cooking Turkey ain't easy.
Double tap if you love #mashedpotatoes !
I made @rachelgoodeats MASHED RED POTATOES for Sunday #Lunner (lunch + dinner; the meal for when you forget to eat lunch, are too young for the early bird special, and know you will be too tired to make dinner) 🙃 #momlife
If you’re short on time, ✨TIP✨ cook the potatoes in the @instapot. Scrub and chop into 1 inch pieces. Throw them in the pot, cover with water, add some salt & pepper. Set to MANUAL, High Pressure, for 8 minutes. Release the steam and drain. BOOM #instantpotatoes#clara_rdn
I'm gonna mash ya! My Thanksgiving week plan means I'll make a little extra of everything that's done in advance (like these), and have for dinner that night. Two birds, one stone, etc.
As for HOW I do mashed potatoes, it's pretty simple. Chop, steam, mash. I do NOT peel the potatoes bc you want the extra fiber. For a smooth mash I use an immersion blender, otherwise it's a more rustic look. Both are good. I add whole milk, butter and and salt...until it tastes good. No recipe here. Works every time!
On Thursday I'll put them in my slow cooker on low in the morning and add more milk, mixing every so often to reheat.
Thanksgiving, I'm comin' for you like a pro this year 🤜🤜🤜 #thanksgivingprep#mashedpotatoes#eatrealfood
