You ready for week three? Now is a good time to check in with your body and ask yourself what you need to stay healthy and in good shape as you challenge and push your boundaries for September's 5K.
I spoke with a personal trainer this week who encouraged me add strength training with resistance bands to ensure the health of my knees. This week I'll be layering his suggestions with the tips from the following articles.
What are your fitness goals this week?Sign up for race with the link in the description?
My swab kit arrived! It's been on my heart to become a bone marrow donor for awhile now and I finally took the step to get registered. You can save a life with one quick step. Visit bethematch.com and feel free to message me if you have questions!
I’ve been too scared to go on the registry for years, but facing that fear was worth it knowing that I could potentially save this little boy’s life.
The process for donors is less scary (and painful) than people imagine. Consider putting yourself on the registry. Check out bethematch.com for more information & to see if it’s something you’d be interested in 💉
Hopefully it’s me

Listen up SKD Legion! We’re looking for ethnically Korean donors to help save a dear friend’s life. If you were a Marine posted at Quantico there’s a good chance you received dental care from Naval Dentist Lt. Julie Jung. Post-military she provided free dental care to children from low-income families and child victims of trafficking and violence. Lt. Jung was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia in January (AML with FLT3 mutation) and urgently needs to find a bone marrow donor match. Julie’s life expectancy is only 2 months after her last round of Chemo which she is starting soon. Her husband Lt. Cmdr Jung is still GWOT active. If you have any Korean in your ancestry, please join the donor registry to see if you are a match at https://join.bethematch.org/fl. A testing kit will be sent to your home, and all you need to do is swab the inside of your cheek and send the kit back. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Got my donor card! Become a bone marrow donor. It’s an easy process to sign up, and if you’re contacted you can save a life. Also, they don’t discriminate against gay and bi men like the CDC does.

Just did it!
My nephew, Henrique Studart! He is a medul transplanted. It saved his life. Be a medul marrow donor and save lives!
Baby Denniya was born fighting an uphill battle, a potentially deadly genetic blood disease. One person, an anonymous stranger, literally saved her life.
At almost 8 months old, Denniya is now home and her parents could not be more grateful, “To hear her breathe. To hear her laugh. To see her smile." Her mother can’t even say it without smiling herself.
Denniya’s dad smiles ear to ear as well when he says, “We call her a miracle…Because ya can’t “Denniya” a miracle.”

This is where I currently am with the #bethematch process. I may or may not be a successful match for this patient. However, I want to use this example to encourage each and every one of you to register with a marrow program. It's incredibly difficult to find successful matches, by registering you increase the possibilities of living for someone who may have no other options left. Help save a life 💛💛💛💛💛 register!!!

It was rough watching the hubby go through the prep process for his #MarrowDonation but it's another reason I am so proud of who he is. He did it without hesitation. I can't wait for the day, if possible, to meet the man who received it. I would love to know that his life is healthier from it. At the center they said the hubby produced 10x the required amount of cells. That's one strong man. 💙👮🏼💙 I would love to know that that man could feel the same.
