monday run day. it’s a thing, right?!
so crazy to think 1 month from now I’ll be in Vancouver to run Seawheeze. i absolutely love the city of Vancouver and the people there.
did I mention that @lululemon hosts the weekend long event so it’s always epic! it’s basically going to be a fitcation for me. yoga, spin and other classes going on all weekend, a half marathon, then the sunset festival of more fitness and music(including diplo!).
who else is going to be in Vancouver sept 20-23?!
teaching schedule 8/20-8/26:
Happy #MedalMonday ! Look at all that bling! Got my 2nd #triplecrownchampion medal yesterday. It's always amazing to me what can be accomplished if you only approach the task with determination and dedication. Medals aren't for what you've accomplished one day, but all the days that lead up to it. That's what I love about the triple crown - it rewards dedication.
Carlsbad | 2:21:13
La Jolla | 2:37:00
AFC | 2:31:44
Triple crown champion: 2018
Keep pushing yourself. What you can't do today you will do by this time next year, if you just have the courage to continue.

My household has a serious case of the Mondays today and although it wasn’t a great run, I was grateful for a few miles to give me back a little bit of sanity.
We’re off on our holibobs tomorrow and I’ve been busy getting last minute bits done. Note to self: don’t leave it till the last minute!! Anyway, I’m looking forward to running in another beautiful part of the world so I thought it was only right I wore my #ratw Tee which arrived this morning! I ❤️ it!! #recoveryrun#sanityrun#runatworld#5k
Call me crazy but I actually like blowing up in workouts. It helps me appreciate the good ones 😜
Kidding aside, after a long week of work travel and accidentally loading up on miles (Oops!), I showed up to the 🌹 bowl with heavy legs and my brain telling me it’s just not going to happen today. Personally, I still like attempting workouts on days like these because races don’t always go as planned and I find tremendous value in figuring out how to be your best when circumstances aren’t in your favor. A cool way I heard Ronda Rousey say it is, “You have to be your best on your worst day”. I say it all the time, it’s easy to give it your best when everything goes smoothly and as planned. It’s a whole different story to put that same effort when you’re tired, feeling stressed, sore, etc. That’s when you learn to grind #foodforthought

WEEK 13 - Can’t believe it’s 27 days to go to @berlinmarathon 😱
Week 12 was a funny old week with a lot going on and I only managed to get a measly 6.2 miles done.
That was the fastest 6.2 miles I’ve ever run in my life I my add, but still, only 6.2 miles.
A slight hamstring niggle has meant a sensible rest for a few days before testing it out with a 7 mile run tonight 🤞🏻 I’m hopeful that the rest has done it good and tonight will be fine, but was a bit of a scare nonetheless and has got me a little worried about that Sub 4 Dream.
But after a little wobble I’m back on the positivity train today and full steam ahead. Choo Fucking Choo 🚂
Nothing worth having is easy, you’ve got to put in the time, effort and dedication to achieve your goals.
There is nothing wrong with dreaming big, but you’ve got to work hard to get there and like the quote says, NEVER GIVE UP!
There will always be hurdles and challenges to face, but that’s life.
If you want something then go for it, work your arse off and earn it 😊
If anyone doesn’t believe you can then make them eat their words, nobody knows you better than you, find your fire within and light that mother fucker and show everyone who you really are.
Inspiration comes from all around us but motivation comes from within.
Find what drives you and harness that strength and go and get it done - NO EXCUSES.
And that my friends is that, time to grind. If this hamstring is still dodgy then I will find another way, if Plan A doesn’t work then go to Plan B, Plan C, hell go all the way to Plan Z if you have to just don’t give up.
Have a great week
Much Love ❤️
After somewhat of a blowout last year attempting my first marathon at the Space Coast in Flordia, I was really in need of a successful finish on Pikes Peak yesterday. This mountain provided me my first trail runs after moving to Colorado 3 years ago and inspired me to to develop this newly discovered passion. After doing the ascent portion the last two years, 6 months ago I decided to sign up for the full. The thought of running a race with some of the worlds best trail runners was tantalizing, and being 1 wave behind them put a fire under my ass. After just 8 miles of ascent I could feel the meat of my knees begin to tighten, the early signs of muscle spasms. Fearing the crippling pain of a charlie horse I proceeded to drink the rest of my concentrated electrolytes in the hope I could fend the contractions off, but it was a hopeless cause. By the time I had reached the golden stairs and was making my turn around at the summit after climbing 7400 ft to a height of 14,115 ft, my legs were in full spasm. After the first few debilitating contractions, causing me to grip my legs and forcibly pull my muscles back loose I thought my chances of finishing had been destroyed and I would just be one more casualty of the race. As I galloped down the first few miles of the peak back to tree line, I was really beginning to callous my mind and essentially just keep moving at my goal pace regardless of the pain I was feeling. I pictured the likes of David Goggins and the other ultra runners who have inspired me and tried to utilize the nuggets of motivational wisdom I've learned from them. Fast forward through the most painful 2 hours of my life and I ended up crossing the finish line 1 second under my reach goal with a time of 5:44:59. Knowing I had pushed my self passed my limit, and with a little urging from the medical staff, I got a liter of IV fluids. Laying there knowing I left everything on that course made me feel proud, and while I know it's not good to push myself that hard on a regular basis, I unlocked a new level of mental fortitude. These kind of days dont just make you a better runner, they make you a better person.
Kicking off the week with a 4 mile run on the strand! 🎉🎉 Im still on a high from this weekend’s event! It was so much fun leading the 5k and meeting new faces!! 🏃🏻♀️☺️ Can’t wait to put another one together! Hope you all had an amazing weekend as well! What was one of your highlights from the weekend?! 👇🏻.
