My security guard/companion whilst I work @mbss_smart. Poor big guy has a nasty couple hot spots going on. Luke has it bad too. We’re getting rid of the doggies food (including treats) that has chicken in it. Someone mentioned they had similar problems and when they mixed poultry it helped immensely. Already giving them fish oil regularly. Gonna stop giving them glucosamine chondriten with MSM too to be safe. We’re gonna get some apoquel for them too. #doghotspots#mansbestfriend#blacklab#blacklabrador#blacklab_squad#labsofinstagram#labsoftheday
You’d think we’d argue when the trail forked and a decision needed to be made...Though we don’t, not ever ....You know if I’d ask him where he wanted to go, he’d insist on the trail to the meadow grasses and the upland prairies filled with the red willow thickets.... But I’ll admit, I’m a bit selfish at times out here and forget to ask... The odds of rustling up a rooster or even flushing a grouse down in these creek bottoms here is next to none.... He knows that too, but adapts to where ever it is the trail takes us... A characteristic to that of a true best friend, also letting me know when I’ve made poor decisions when the ground smells bare.......These creek bottoms here we find ourselves in tell me a lot about the land, and it’s usually me chasing buck tracks and bedding. Not birds on these detours while Sutton understands the change of scenery.. Though wouldn’t you know it, he turns into a deer hunter too! Pointing and indicating fresh corridors where deer once laid, he stays busy on the banks. He knows me and what it is I’m looking for, and he’s the best scouting partner I’ve ever had, literally... He never bi***s about the distance, nor the weather, the circumstances, or going through it all again. And, he’s always willing to go back..
Though he does share a few words if we get into that buckthorn, or worse...The parking lot, he’s a damn child at the tires... He never gives up, nor does he back down when an obstacle obstructs. He’s put me on some buck sign I’d never of walked by.... He moves about the trails and contour of the land as the wilderness does...Something we humans lack, the ability to super smell the earth, I’m envious.... Some may say I should keep my dogs out of the deer woods.... I’d say leave your beer drinking buddy with his soiled boots at home, I’ll take the nose..... ——-To good hunting dogs, and friends🍻
