Two breweries, two local Pennsylvania malts. Not only is this collaboration Brew day a ton of fun, it's also made using some unique ingredients that our pals from Troegs brought with them: 1200 lbs of malt from double eagle and 800 lbs malt from deer creek, both local PA maltsters! Now add in 120 lbs of comet hops, 44 lbs of simcoe, 44 lbs of azaka, and 4 cases of beer to drink while we're brewing. We're thrilled to work with Troegs to make our FRESH LOCAL BEER as local as possible. Watch for this unnamed-for-now beer to release sometime in April during PCBW
The Soles Of Malt award given to individuals whose work and efforts Embody the spirit of our industry and have had an outsized impact. This years award winner was Aaron MacLeod who does all our malt analysis!
Our pals from @norwaybrewingco and @oxbowbrewingcompany got together to make a special beer with foraged juniper berries and a whole lot of #MadeInMaine grain! (Including ours)⠀
They are releasing it this coming Friday!! You've got to check out their original post for all the amazing details!! It looks so yummy!!
That @blueoxdavid has a tough job! Visiting breweries, trying beers that have our malts in them, taking pictures so we can share it with you.....just kidding! Those are just the benefits of his job. He actually works very, very hard!⠀
How did that @somebrewingco Mainely Pale Ale treat you David?
Two new beers on tap today! First, Maltivore, an English dark strong ale with turbinado sugar made with malt from @blackdirtmalt! Think of it as a light barleywine at 6.5%. #nymalt#maltlocal#thinknydrinkny
Second, Evil Yule Cat, we took the base of Maltivore and blended some bourbon barrel aged imperial stout and added vanilla beans to complement the barrel character (7.4%). #jolakotturinn#iceland#yulecat#dontbelazy
Come get them at Duck In and Out! We're here until 10.
