It seems that I’m at the point where I should decide if I want to try to salvage and upgrade this jointer stand for my old 4” Beaver jointer (the jointer is on the floor somewhere) or maybe just start thinking about getting the @ridgidpowertools jointer one day. Any thoughts?

When I first bought these saws together, I thought they were a set with different colored handles to make it easy to tell them appart in the till. Now that I've spent a lot of time cleaning and sharpening them, it's pretty clear that although they're all Disston D-23 saws, they're different ages. The lighter two were probably made around the same time, but the darkest one is different. While the fancy lettering on the metal of the light two scrubbed off with the rust, the dark one's is still intact. The way the holes were punched in the saw plate for the handle screws is different, too. The dark one also has the initials "M.B." carved into the handle with a vibrator tool, and it has a lot of paint splotches on it. Such interesting history between the three of them!
She's transitioning into a new role and I think I need to step back a bit and let her. She's been my model since I started this little shop when she was a baby.
Today she found the new sweater I've been working on and p-l-a-n-n-e-d to introduce tonight. I was working on getting photos of it when she had her own ideas. As she grabbed her toy camera she said, "Alright Mom, I take pictures."
So my formal introduction is on hold for now, but view our stories to find out the name of this fabulous sweater. :-)
Perfectly imperfect lemons sitting in a gorgeous @millydent bowl... I think this might be a metaphor for life, I just can’t articulate what it is yet 😉. But hey, what a gorgeous day, my recommendation is to spend just a few seconds looking up, wow! xx

Successful skate session filming with my DJI Osmo Mobile 2 Gimbal and iPhone. Getting comfortable skating while holding $800 worth of technology isn’t easy. The video here is a lesson in storytelling. How do you film and cut footage to keep viewers engaged? How do you embrace imperfections in filming or use them to your advantage? I love skating, film, and technology. So much fun. @djiglobal
Thinkin about knitting on the beach while it's storming here. 🌩️
I love thunderstorms though. The crash and rumble of thunder, the misty haze as you look out over the horizon, the rain pouring down the window. .
I love how outside is calm. You don't see birds flying or bugs flitting here and there. Every animal seeks shelter from the storm. It makes me laugh to myself when inside people are frantic. Will we lose power? Shut off the electronics! I forgot my umbrella! How will I get home? .
I read a post today from @emmelinebramble about crying. Posts like that always make me reflect on my thoughts and feelings. It may be cliche, but I think of storms as the sky crying. Instead of scary, powerful and mean, I think the sky is vulnerable. Her clouds are letting everything go so she can make room for more rainwater. .
I always want to go outside during a storm and let my hair down, take off my glasses and soak in her vulnerability. Because opening your heart to someone is beautiful. .
I take inspiration from a storm. It is a reminder that for me to keep moving forward, I need to be vulnerable. And sometimes that means letting my emotions out. Though a storm may seem scary, there's a blossom waiting to grow who just needs a little rain. 🏵️

This drill is a beast! 👊 Had to drill some 4-1/8" holes for running some dust collection lines and this was definetly the drill for the job ✔ A big hammerdrill like this doesn't get a ton of use in the shop, but it sure is nice when you need it 👌
