My first workshop!!! Had such a lovely day yesterday teaching some clay play to such a beautiful group of women. Loved seeing their ideas come to life + how different all their pieces turned out to be!
Thanks so much to Sam @moss_folk for getting me on board + demonstrating some beautiful self-care practices, to Maggie + Josh from @thinkthornbury for having us in their beautiful space + to @wade_ruiters for the caffeine pick-me-ups 💫💫💫
Six things in six days.... day 7, annnnnnd the knitting continues.
Lots of reflection and looking forward happens this time of year. Knitting gives my mind time to wander on the possibilities for 2019. Elements of design, snippets of concepts, flashes of colors, patterns, and images from the past year swirl around and start to assemble in some order.
The tactile nature of working with fiber keeps me connected to natural elements which I seem to have a need to handle and work with everyday. I continue to fill my desire to make as I take a break from clay and ponder what designs will come in the new year.
Blustery winds are racing about today and I am taking some time to bundle up to trek to the studio and load the kiln to get one more firing in for December.
Plan to knit some, visit the chickens, and fiber-producing 4-leggers, defrost some slow-cooked dish made and frozen in the last month, and make some bread today. Annnnnd hope the power stays on for at least 16 to 18 hours to get through the kiln firing, so I can reheat dinner, and so, we can watch some movies.
Just another day on the farm and in the studio.... time spent letting one's thoughts come together to form direction for the new year....
