a little treasure from a corner in my old room.
I’m so blessed to live in the time where cameras are so easy accessible; if I want to remember something, i’ll just pull out my phone or camera and capture a glimpse of it, to carry the moment or piece of art (like this) with me forever.
interior and decorating is a lifelong passion of mine, and why i haven’t shared more of it on this corner of the internet is a mystery to me, but since getting so much response to my “moving room, same house”-stories, i’ve realised even more how much i love sharing about it.
so expect a lot more interior and decor-related photos, still gonna be me though, with lots of deep and meaningful captions and words too 😽
if you’ve missed or wanna re-watch my whole moving process (still in process...) i created a highlight for it.. so far it’s called “moving-vlog”. anyway, enjoy my little secret garden shelf, that no longer exists like this anymore.
◼️Keukenswipe! ◾▪️
I don’t know about you, but when I’m working on different projects, I accumulate thousands of photos and although I am very organised and keep all my files in neat folders, there comes a point when I feel overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I know lives here... Does this happen to you, too? Do you accumulate thousands of photos, some of them almost identical, on your device?!?!?
So as was ‘spring cleaning’ my iPad this morning, I came across this oldie from a few months ago. A mid-century modern apartment I styled for a client whom I hadn’t met. The entire job was done electronically while he was overseas for a few weeks: e-design at its finest. It was a real joy to meet him when he returned and see that he was so happy and at ease in his home... I live for those work moments! I’m so glad I’m not a dentist!
Have you had any experience with e-design yet? 💻 📱🛠
Oooooops two questions in one
post_ that’s the old lawyer in me 😬.
I suppose I could brighten up the shot, but that would be lying! The whole point of using two light sources so close to each other in this eat-in kitchen was that there’s never a lot of natural light.
Anyway, I’m curious to know if your devices also get chock-full of photos...
Have a lovely Sunday, dear friends!

I was out of the house shooting all day today. Hubby was back and forth twice to a hockey rink clear across town with my oldest. Our little one had to be shipped off to a friends place and because we were off in two different directions already, we had to rope this friends’ dad onto driving him to a birthday party! After all was said and done, we didn’t get settled back in at home until 8:00 tonight at which time we all rummaged for leftovers. Happy this day is done! Looking forward to tomorrow when the morning will look a little more like this. Until we’re off to the rink again at noon, that is!
We are not responsible for what we are seeing. We are responsible for how we perceive what we are seeing. - Gabrielle Bernstein - I’ve been living this quote lately and it’s making such a difference in how I view things, how I relate to people and situations, and what thoughts & opinions I give weight to. On that note, there are times I could sit and stare at this purple beauty and get lost in the sharp edges, the depth & sparkle...the endless creative pull. Earth’s treasures and magic inspire me to give myself permission to trust in the process...whatever that looks like to me.
Our front stoop finally feeling like fall! 🍂 T unloaded everything and did the first pass at styling the pumpkins and mums. He even added the crate himself for height variation. Guess I’m rubbing off on him! 😂
“It isn't the great big pleasures that count the most; it's making a great deal out of the little ones”
words by Jean Webster from my readings and this is a later gram from our 2018 new year gift exchange and at home brunch. I’ve been thinking about Christmas. How are you doing in this weather? #trinidadandtobago
Do you ever have those days where even though you slept like a rock you just feel like you’ve been hit by a truck, no matter how much coffee you consume? Or moving around you do? Dats me. Today. I’ve been monitoring my time on the internet the past couple days as I needed a little brain space. And honestly I loved it so much. I even read a whole book (yes, I’m a very fast reader lol)
I’ve now decided to schedule my time really intentionally so that I have more creative space and time to do the things I love. Less time using devices as a distraction and more time to play, paint, read, teach yoga & go for walks in nature. The things that fill me up, that make my soul happy. Tell me what do you do that makes your soul happy? ✨
Are you an indoor or outdoor gardener?
I have to confess, I’m much better at taking care of my indoor plants but this long weekend we’re doing some yard work. Pruning, trimming, mowing and weed eating (as they call it here in NZ). Since we’re moving soon, I don’t want to replant our veggie beds so I’m considering some container plants like tomatoes and strawberries.
What are some of your favourite plants to grow outside/inside? 🍃 #leaf_ladies
