Just a great juxtaposition 😂😂😂.
The kids were awesome for the first hour and a half of waiting in line to see Santa and the Silos: Tobin was playing with all of the kids (as many of them had brought along a ball of some sort), and Frankie was busy having me film videos of her singing, to show to Santa Claus. .
Then Tobin realized that it was past his nap time, and that he probably should have eaten more than two bites of his breakfast quesadilla, and he started to get real sad/mad. At roughly the same time, Frankie realized that she was actually afraid of Santa and did not want to see him after all— least of all sit on his lap. At this point we were almost to the front of the line and did not know what was going to happen, but we were prepared for disaster. After squirming out of my arms and jumping in a pretty fair sized puddle, I was able to wrangle Tobin and get him over to Santa. Can’t say that Tobin was “happy” 😂, but the Silo Santa was pretty much magic because Tobin stayed still, and all Santa had to do with Frankie was look at her and she immediately changed her tune. So all in all, it turned out way better than we could have hoped 😅 (except on the way home Frankie got sad again because she realized that she had forgotten to show Santa all the videos she had prepared for him 🤣🤦🏼♀️— May put one in my story in a bit).
Sometimes we lose ourselves by trying to be what everyone else wants us to be or we try to be someone for everyone else: the perfect mom, the perfect daughter, the perfect professional, the perfect friend. Losing your authenticity sends you down the exact opposite path of these pursuits and you end up irritable, exhausted, and disappointed. Give yourself a gift today... be genuinely you... do what works for you! .
Today I got back to my roots and found my way back on the mat 🧘🏻♀️🙌🏻. It was truly humbling.. those once “easy” poses had me begging for mercy and being back in touch with my inner peace was so grounding. I still have a lot of work to do but a weight was lifted. Gotta love those aha moments!! .
I’m embarking on a 3 week yoga retreat in the comfort of my own home or back yard if the weather permits! 😀. A mission of self love, authenticity, and growth 💪♥️ SO STOKED! (Ps: you are welcome to join if you need some of this goodness too) .
Any of you feel me? Any of you ever lost yourself or feel lost now? If you are courageous enough please share your story below or give me a hands up/ yea girl 🙋🏻♀️
Gingerbread Whoopie Pies
Okay, so I’m cheating a little on this one. This recipe is not in the Magnolia Table cookbook, BUT it is in the Magnolia Journal. So that counts, right?
I made the cookies a little smaller than I was supposed to and ended up with more cookies than expected, so I took half the batch to work and half the batch to a church Christmas party. It would be an understatement to say these cookies got rave reviews. They were dubbed by some coworkers as the best cookies they had ever tasted. And I bring A LOT of cookies to work!
They are perfect holiday treats, and they’re unique enough that they won’t double what everyone is baking during this wonderful, cookie-filled season. They are a little more work than your average cookie, but not too bad. I can’t recommend this recipe enough!
For those wondering, the recipe comes from last year’s Christmas edition of the Magnolia Journal. 😊
The side tables are done and they are pretty special. The majority of the lumber was a large southern Indiana oak barn timber. This is a Stickley design which I modified slightly. All mortise and tenon construction. The poplar shelves are removable. Danish Oil finish. Sorry, they are already sold. This beam was very old and had quite a bit of beetle damage which can be seen in the tops.

Nothing makes me more proud than watching a loved one do what they love... my friend @handstolearn created these beautiful Grace mugs and I love them even more because I know the heart behind it.
We have had countless heart to hearts about why we are both so afraid of rest...why we feel like we need to constantly be striving and doing in order to be worthy. Rest gives us space to sit with our thoughts and hear the lies we believe about ourselves. When we stop listening to the lies and believe the truths of scripture that we are strong and worthy through Christ. Not by what we can do or give to others but our worth is in Christ. Grace requires nothing of us.
Angel created this mug to serve as a reminder to have in front of us daily that grace is free in Christ. We are free in Christ.
It’s a perfect gift for anyone in your life...it’s beautiful & meaningful but practical as well, they can use it everyday! Tuesday is the last day to order a mug to give as a gift this Christmas!! Head over to @handstolearn link in bio to go shopping!
I may or may not have told almost everyone I came into contact with here that it has been my dream to come to Waco...
