More Louis! 2016 Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuisse. Louis Jadot is one of the largest producers in Burgundy, France, owning over 140 acres of Estate fruit. This means that alot of the wine that is exported is affordable, for the most part. This is Pouilly-Fuisse, a small appelation inside the southern region of Maconnais. Here, the grape used is 100% Chardonnay, usually aged and fermented in stainless steal and large format oak. This was a fun wine to try. Very clean expression of Chardonnay with a refreshing minerality. Plenty of green apples, grapefruit, and a slight toasted nuttiness on the palate. Just in the background do I catch hints of that warm, neutral, oak creaminess, but then it goes away. Regardless, great wine to try. This sells online for $30, but I found it for $19 in town. Great find. Could cellar for a few years to develop depth. Enjoy!
