Lots going on in the last while. At last I got a whole set of lasts haha! I finally fixed all the rot on the sill plates of the shop. That will help me sleep better. Just another window and some siding! Oh yeah got some readers. Last shot by @heyjuelle before the windows went in. Got a few boots on the go but have a few things to do first. Thanks for looking.
Just an example of one of our offerings at Float Coffee Co. Come try our pour over either at Diversity Music Festival this upcoming weekend, or later this summer in Desolation Sound. We promise it will not disappoint!
This shot is from last September when we took our first steps towards actualizing our dream of a floating coffee shop. This is us with Rainbow our Northsea 34’. She’s a sloop rigged pilothouse and is our floating home! Now she’s quickly becoming Float Coffee Co HQ. Catch us next weekend at Diversity Music festival on Texeda Island, where we will be serving up hot and cold coffee offerings before we hit the seas for the rest of the summer. You will find us on land set up in a white canvas wall tent!
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” 💛

Tbh, @nancys.bakery Blackberry Cinnamon Rolls are my passion.
In to Comox at 3:30a.m. -> up for the ferry at 5a.m. But now I’m sitting near the #LundBC Harbour with a hot roll and an almond milk latte, and all is right with the world. Let the #sunshinecoast adventure commence! ☀️⛰💙
I recently flipped open an old journal from about 5 years back of mine. Landed on a page that had the ‘accomplishments of the year’ a list written for all the little wins throughout that year.
A line that read ‘full resting squat’. A powerful and humble reminder that not many years ago I couldn’t get into a squat. A reminder of how caved in my posture was. A reminder of the tightness and rigidity of my body and mind.
A reminder that I wasn’t the person who was gifted with flexibility, I wasn’t the person that the practice came easy.
Deep gratitude to all the teachers in my life who saw something I couldn’t see in my self, who invited me towards a different way forward.
The small choices every day create our path onwards. There is no secret, no magic, just consistent patient effort.
Who will you be in 5 years?
Rather be making boots but emergency septic surgery had to take place! Just a reminder to all you awesome folks who rent our Airbnb. Our septics our very sensitive in rural properties. Only human waste and a little TP should go down the toilet. On the bright side I learnt ALOT!!💩
Been sewing uppers for the last few days on my Pfaff 193. I’ve been sewing for a long time and still find it super challenging. I have a lot of respect for factory sewers who sew 40 plus hours a week. I’m gonna be on Savary island for the next 3 weeks swinging hammers with @jlafoote so my posts will be less often but I have bunch more samples on the go so not too far away.Stay tunes!
K folks these are up for sale. A chance to get a pair before I figure it out and charge a proper price. $295 cdn plus applicable taxes and shipping. Very black! The leather is just some no name stuff I had and have used for samples. Not the best but it will wear well. Double leather midsole that is hand stitched. Stacked leather heel. Then a black Topy glued to the bottom. These are unbranded. They are a 10.5 E. so they fit like an 11. Sorry no exchanges or refunds on these. DM me for questions and email if you want to purchase. firstname.lastname@example.org
Going to put some boots up for sale later this week. Some have scuffs from the finisher some are good but I used leather that I wouldn’t normally use cause I was practicing. Until then you get a pic of my active senior #bostonterrier#monadiamond stay tuned.
WE ARE BACK!!
After more than 10 years of making moccasins we’ve decided to retire production for now. After working on boots on and off for the past few years we are ready to start showing them off. Over the next few months we will be sampling different sizes and putting them up for sale. I’m sure you will like what we are up to. Thanks for your patronage over the years. Ken Diamond est. 2002
