These little ones spent the day at Nannie and Popa’s house whilst Mummy had a stroll round the shops. It was bliss. I could browse and take my time and even stopped for lunch (check out my stories)...meanwhile this pair got spoilt rotten with umpteenth snacks and who knows how many episodes of Paw Patrol. Overall everyone had a very good day.
Hello! 🇬🇧Bonjour! 🇫🇷 Guten tag! 🇩🇪 Hola! 🇪🇸 •
If you’re viewing this you are super lucky; my first post on Instagram and yes! It’s my lunch! 🤤
A cheeky little bargain from M&S (ugh ❤️) with two fillets of haddock. Please excuse my nails they are in complete disarray 😳.
For anyone who cares here’s the nutrition break down 💁🏼♀️
I LOVE my ME time. I’m guessing most parental units struggling with everyday do 😛
For the past few months I’ve been designating one afternoon a week to eating out on my own. Food I love, #dessert , obviously, because #dessertistheanswer , and I’ll usually hide behind a book while I eavesdrop on conversations. Sometimes I’ll even read the book 😂
This week, I did my #lunchforone at @fabcafe.in, with a brilliant, spicy #shakshuka and some absolutely outstanding #lemonpoppyseed#icecream . Witnessed (okay, eavesdropped on) a blossoming romance at the table next to mine.
Then treated myself to a gorgeous #summercocktail with cucumber peel and elderflower syrup at home.
Why? Because I need to privilege myself and be more than just householder/lecturer/mum/whiner.
I swear that that one afternoon makes it possible for me to get through the rest of the week. It really does.
Okay, pliss to be enjoying virtually my very fabulous ice cream and Happy Sunday and power on through the next week, peoples!
And if you’re thusly inclined, check out Michael Ondaatje’s Warlight, also on the #manbookerprize longlist for 2018.
