So last week we started bubby back on her real food lifestyle aka #paleo It’s been a tough journey since we have been back home in NZ living in and out of both parents houses unable to set up our own sanctuary of health & wellness. I take full responsibility for her wellness & the past 10 months have been all over the place for her, with temptations for us both everywhere we stay. So back to school means back in the kitchen and I love nothing more than giving her an optimal life that she deserves. But here’s the thing, because of our non structured life she has had the taste of sugar, cheese, crackers and I’m sure there has been some sneaky wheat products in the mix also 🙄 which means her palate has had the taste of SHIT food & now is the fussiest human alive 😩 I will try my best to never let the twins even have a sniff of anything processed 😆 Anywho iv gave this recipe a shot thanks to the @themerrymakersisters & bubby has given the 👍🏽 and I totally double it!! Amazing taste and so so easy. It’s hard work getting back in the kitchen with the twins but this shit gotta get done ✅ #merrymakersisters#healthyfood#healthyliving#healthylifestyle#healthyrecipes#lunchboxideas#healthykids#nutrition#realfood#paleo#paleorecipes#yummo#health 💖🙌🏽

Are you planning a day out with the kids!? We all have adventure days in the summer, and this is how we pack to ensure our kids are eating right, even on those long days out of the house.
This pic is from last summer when I took the kids to Canada's Wonderland. They don't let food inside the park (though I was able to bring in 3 apples for us), and most of their food options are pretty greasy, so we "picnic" in the parking lot!
Packing a healthy lunch for our long day at the amusement park means the kids have more energy and stay in better moods throughout the day. It also allows for an unhealthy treat at the end, like an ice cream cone or funnel cake 😉
A Sunday morning tradition - pikelets! We winged this recipe and it was super tastey!! 1C plain flour, 1C almond meal, 1T baking powder, 2 eggs and 1.5C milk - mix and fry off in a little butter for super fluffy and glorious pikelets 😋 we topped with a mixed berry chia sauce (throw some berries in a pot with a tiny bit of water and a drop of honey, defrost/heat/mash and add chia seeds to thicken slightly) and banana 🍓🍌 EASY!
My son requested pancakes for his 3rd birthday, which is on Tuesday, but his party is today so it’s a birthday celebration filled weekend! 🥞 I used a mix from @wholefoods #360 and added about a 1 tsp pure vanilla extract to sweeten them up a bit. Honey would work, too! Syrup from @butternutmountainfarm 🍁

Have you tried cauliflower rice? It has become a staple in our household as a low carb, nutrient dense substitute for rice and pasta.
Starchy, fibrous foods and processed carbohydrates/ sugars prevent healing of leaky gut & feed pathogenic gut flora. Processed carbohydrates & sugars also signal the release of insulin, causing fat storage (obesity!) & whole body inflammation as well as contributing to various metabolic diseases such as PCOS, diabetes type 1, heart disease & insulin sensitivity... (Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride - Gut & Psychology Syndrome) The GAPS diet removes damaging, starchy, sugary foods while providing all nutrients required to heal from these metabolic conditions.
think about how you can substitute starchy, processed carbs with more nutrient dense options... Method:
Super easy to make, particularly in the Thermomix... Blend cauliflower chunks for 4 seconds, speed 5 (vary depending on volume & preferred size of rice). Then empty cauliflower rice into steaming basket with 1L of water in the thermomix bowl. Cook for 12 mins on veroma, speed 2. You may also add other veggies (carrots, peas, broccoli...) for variation. Enjoy with curries, stir frys, casseroles and pasta sauces etc. :) #cauliflowerrice#lowcarbrice#gapsdiet#lchf#nutrientdensefoods#carbsubstitute

Mama stocked up on fruit! They are out staying busy all day so I prepared this #planetbox for their dinner tonight. It’s hot outside so what’s better than a light meal that’s colorful and healthy and can be eaten with a toothpick (their new favorite thing to do)? I’m not sure how the plantains will go over. I left them out for my son and my daughter has had them before but probably won’t remember. By the way, pitting cherries without a cherry pitting tool is no joke. Do your kids like picking up food with a toothpick, too? What are some ways you get them to try new foods?
