I’ve been MIA the past couple of days. This past weekend was memorable for many reasons. ☝🏼I ended up in the ER Saturday early morning with Colitis. I’d never heard of it, I’m always healthy, so it took me by surprise. Recovery is going and I’m just keeping things positive. Despite my very uncomfortable Colitis Saturday, our family did a wonderful thing that night. ✌🏻In front of friends and our church family, we were baptized by immersion (something I’ve been wanting to do for a while-I was sprinkled in elementary school). It was such a moving and wonderful moment! Steve and I have loved watching our kiddo’s faith grow and blossom, leading them to declare Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.❤️ #baptism#immersion#homeschoolingmama#colitissucks#blessed#howcool#luckylady
“If you would stand still and just smile normal we could be done by now” he is receiving the same speech in every single picture. So if you can’t find us I am prolly trying to talk Matt into taking a good picture of me. #amomentwithken#andmth#justbestill#lovehim#luckylady
My oldest son forgot to do his homework this morning. Instead, he was playing a game. When it was time to leave for school he remembered. Initially, I was really frustrated with him and wanted to yell. I wanted to take him to school without letting him do his homework so that he could learn a "lesson". How is it fair that my other son was going to be late because my first was irresponsible?
That was my old way of thinking. I'm still growing as a person and mother and I'm trying desperately to have more compassion. There have been thousands of times I've been late. Im 43 and incredibly forgetful sometimes, so who am I to get upset with a child who is just trying to figure it all out.
I took some deep breaths. I told him he needed to accept responsibility (he was blaming his dad, his waking up later, etc) and that this one time we will work together to finish it even though that would make them late for school. We walked out the front door to this view just under 10 minutes late. We talked about our choice and that in the greater scheme of things it was no big deal. As we drove to school and shared what we are thankful for, I was overwhelmed with gratitude.
Changing how we respond to events in our lives can have a huge impact on how we show up to the world. We all have a choice. I challenge you to take a deep breath and go through life with gratitude instead of anger and frustration. I promise it will change everything for you!
Sometimes I feel like a diety or a saint or something. 🤣 this shelf is built in to the ceiling coming down the stairs. It started off with a couple vases, but my family has slowly turned it into an offering table for me 🤣🤣 every time I look up there there's something new my family saw, thought of me and put up there. This morning I found #Jake up there from #adventuretime ... they drive me nuts but this is probably the greatest, sweetest thing anyone had ever done for me 💜💖 #familyiseverything#ilovemykiddos#luckylady
“If people refuse to look at you in a new light and they can only see you for what you were, only see you for the mistakes you’ve made, if they don’t realize that you are not your mistakes, then they have to go.” – Steve Maraboli
#sunrise I took a few days ago .. this was the second #beautiful thing I saw that day
.. a “good morning love” text was the first . Every day is as amazing as you make it . @gold_2th makes my days amazing everyday .
#shoutout to my crazy talented husband! Some of you may know that he was recently laid off from his job in #stl due to restructuring/big budget cuts. Within 3 days, he had a formal job offer and 2 more offers coming. We spent a week deciding which opportunity was the best fit for us, and it ended up being with his previous employer of 10 years. Right now, we are splitting our time between STL and Southeast Kansas but will slowly transition into splitting our time between Kansas and Ohio. It’s been a crazy adventure for the last 3.5 weeks, but there’s no one else I would rather do life with. (Although I must admit, I didn’t miss the midnight phone calls and bacon smell the last year 😂😬) #lifemate#baconman#keepmovingforward#lifeisgood#luckylady#proudwife
Approx 18 years ago I arrived in Melbourne as part of my year long backpacking adventure! The dream was to live here, needless to say that didn’t happen but fast forward & I’m so excited to be here again....a little classier in style than last time! The apartment is AMAZING and yes that’s my bed in one of the photos! Thankfully there’s blinds! Also invested in some of my old Ozzie faves!! Just bloomin brilliant!!!!! #loveoz#melbourne#whataview#luckylady#butgerringsarestillasgood !!

Happy National Bosses day to all the Leaders who inspire me everyday. #socalstrong#stayhumble#leanin#development#nationalbossesday#moneymoves#laughter#smile#kindness#payitforward#luckylady#blessed#bestc02 @astrametz @sergio.vzw @krispy1129 @dhorne08 @masood_vzw @mdominguezsocal @l.gilmore.sc02
Once upon a time, that über handsome, shaggy haired, college hockey playing, now husband of mine, grabbed the first flower he ever bought me. He thought he bought a rose... it was a white carnation. He came home with these for me after a painful few days and I can hardly stand how much I love him. He had brownies, rice crispy treats, popcorn, and orange crush in hand too...
It’s time I checked in with my instafam 💕 Yesterday and today has been a little rough. Nothing major, just lots of little things not going quite as expected (or as hoped for)....oh and the weather because it’s easy to blame right?! Feeling defeated and tired! 😔 Today, my ladies gave me this sweet gift and pulled me right up. I’m thankful for their dedication, patience, drive, persistence, and grace. Happy and proud to have these 2️⃣ on board @sergent_wellness .
Thanks you so much for all my family & friends for your birthday wishes, cards and presents.. I'm an extremely lucky lady.
Another year older but feeling younger each year.
Here's to another year of making special memories.
Lots of love Xxxx
