First week of 60 Day! Are you registered yet? What’s it gonna take to make a promise to yourself?— The last 60 days were unforgettable. Over the summer my dads diabetes hit hard. He lost a tremendous amount of weight & it wasn’t from exercise/nutrition. I too lost 10 lbs (10 f’n lbs! It was awful!) and a lot of strength from that stupid stomach bug that was going around. In August I made a deal with my him. I told him if he took care of himself for 60 days, I would train for 60 days & sign up to compete in something. I haven’t competed in over 4 years so he knew I was serious. Austin Fittest turned out to be the same weekend that our 60 day deal ended so I went with it. I didn’t do well at all and when you combine that with being competitive, I beat myself up for about a week. It sucks to suck but overall, I’m glad I did it. I wanted to show my dad what was possible if he put his effort towards his health. 60 days sounds like a long time but it’s not, I def could have used more time but looking back on everything I overcame... I gained back 7/10 lbs of the weight I lost, 2 old injuries came back & I did my best with my strength & conditioning program to prepare. I’m happy I didn’t break my promise. Now that I have the taste of competing again, I will be signing up for our indoor Tri in January and getting back into Oly lifting again. Not looking forward to it bc I hate cardio but I am looking forward to the process & journey! My dad has made short & long term goals that will stretch into 2019 and 2020. 11 years with Life Time Fitness today.... geeeeezz. I don’t know how the hell that happened! 😂 What started off as just a front desk job at Golds Gym to help me get through school (in a totally different field) turned into another passion of mine. Health & Fitness saved my life. It got me out of a very abusive relationship from my teens/early 20’s, an eating disorder, depression & anxiety... I probably wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for my friend @moniflores0919 taking me to the gym with her and buying a couple of personal training sessions for me. Coming out of that relationship, I was 85 lbs soaking wet and didnt realize it bc I didn’t look in a mirror in weeks. I am so grateful for all the fitness professionals and clients I’ve worked with that have made me into the person I am today. All of you have taught me not only how to be a better fitness professional but overall better person in all relationships of my life. Two questions people always ask me is, “so you just want to be a trainer?” and “how much do you make?” 🤔 as if the career I’ve chosen has no value both monetary or purpose. Let me tell you what I “make”... actually let me tell you what I am capable of doing... I “make” people believe in themselves. I make people stronger. I make people overcome mental and physical illnesses. I make people better than the first day they walked in this huge building. I make people overcome grieving life experiences. I make people get a fresh start. I make people confident and brave. I make healthy babies by taking care of their mommas. I make a difference. So if you see someone that does something with passion, a purpose, and makes even a tiny difference in the world... you have no right or place to judge. And for my colleagues who have felt the same when someone asks you what you do, be proud of what you do and ROCK that shit! Bodyweight Basics ✅. Week 3 ✅. A small but amazing group in this morning at 9:00 AM going through a workout, and getting educated on how today’s movements can help your fitness.
Education : Bodyweight Training. -Someone who is just learning how to move properly can benefit from these movements. It can allow you to get deep into movements such as squats, push-ups, and doing a proper plank. -If you’re at a plateau with your strength training bodyweight can benefit you allowing you to take a step back, and get back to basic movement and techniques. Allowing your body to remember what it feels like to go into a full range of motion. -Recovery workouts with body weight as well, allowing your body to relax a little bit. Short on time or no equipment, BOOM excuses no more

What An amazing event yesterday for our @alphatraining program in Michigan. Annual ALPHA Battle held at Troy this year, and it did not disappoint. These 3 came badasses from @ltfteam_commerce did an awesome job! Aaron placed in the top 3 of the men’s division! Laura and Tammy both hit PR’s in their movements as well.
