On her latest post @kaptain.kenny asked if there was something we had seen in our travels that had an emotional impact on us.. without hesitation my answer was the Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich, London.
I can still remember the November day in 2010 when my sister and I first set eyes on the place. Both of us had tears in our eyes. She says it was because our dad, who had passed away a couple years previously & had been in the NZ Navy for around 30 years.. that may have been part of it but for me it was something more.
I felt like I had come home.
Now, I don't go in for all that previous life hoohah but I definitely felt something familiar that day. And on every subsequent visit - there have been a few! The only other time I feel that way is when I am flying over the Southern Alps & Canterbury Plains of New Zealand, towards my hometown of Christchurch.
It's funny how a place that you have never been to before can elicit such strong feelings. Has that ever happened to you?
I know you must be bummed out too that we are a month away to the end of the summer 😳so here is a little distraction for you so you don’t think about that. There is a cute little bunny on this pic. Can you find it?🤗
