Hi folks! You may have been wondering which country would be the focus of the next campaign on our social media channels - it's South Africa! Follow along here and on Facebook as we post some of our favourite shots of our favourite places in the Rainbow Nation. For us at The Grown-up Travel Company, Durban is the logical place to start as it is our favourite city in SA - this is a shot of the beachfront area known as the Golden Mile. We feel that South Africa is more about history, culture, food and drink and the urban experience than it is about safaris and wildlife. So when we send clients to South Africa, we encourage them to experience the often difficult but always interesting realities of life in this diverse, stunning and - let's face it - still troubled country. Durban and the KwaZuluNatal region offer so much to visitors and are crazily overlooked by most - we aim to change that. This is me behind my work bench, busy sawing out some circles out of Sterling Silver for earrings. I just had to take a picture of my awesome super pink weekend nails before they are ruined. #happymondays#dayinthelife
It’s now been *one full year* that I’ve lived outside of South Africa ever since I first moved there. Naturally, I’m reminiscing on the beautiful memories I created whilst living there.
South Africa 🇿🇦 - home for 11 years, and yet never obtained permanent residency (because I moved too much 😆). Imagine using your passport for every admin procedure! The main highlights: close friends for life, full immersion baptism, engagement to my best friend, rescued kittens 🐱 and founded a community that’s still thriving today.
A part of me will always be there in South Africa. Just like a part of SA will always be in my heart. Isn’t it so with all the countries we called home? In my case there’s a few, so I get multi-home sickness 😂. _
