The buffet table here at Hopton House. Freshly baked bread, raspberry streusel muffins just out of the oven, fresh berries, blueberry compote, greek yoghurt, homemade granola, muesli, homemade jam and marmalade, freshly squeezed orange, local apple juice
My studio faces out over the field behind our house, and I regularly find myself being watched with great interest by its residents.
Three layers of fence have so far kept this young man in his paddock, but every time I look up from the wheel, there he is staring longingly at my garden 😂
Well we’ve had an exciting morning! What a wonderful experience watching the @bbccin #RickshawChallenge2018 at the @thelarchbarn_ and meeting the wonderful Matt Baker. Good luck to the BBC team on the rest of their journey!
A bit of Tuesday afternoon cloud porn. I’m busy writing today and I’ve got into the flow, which is a rarity these days. I listened to the @calm meditation on procrastination yesterday. It suggests bringing yourself back to whatever you’re being distracted from again and again, like you do with your breath as you meditate
Saffy and I took a lovely drive down to Kington yesterday for a friend’s birthday lunch. It’s about a 30 minute drive with a couple of different options for a route. I chose to go via Knighton and Presteigne meandering along the welsh border, with beautiful views. It was a day of dramatic weather contrasts with glorious sunshine, autumn colour, black storm clouds and rainbows. On the way back I was interested to see what Google maps suggested and she sent us back through Herefordshire along a road I’ve never driven before through Lingen. All very beautiful.
Spotted 👀 @risdonandrisdon in the Sunday Times Magazine’s @thestmagazine rundown of The Very Best Christmas Presents 🎁 🎄 we totally agree! (and they’re nestled next to the wonderful @nethertonfoundry 🍳)
Wilfred Owen is regarded by many as the greatest poet of the First World War. He was born in Oswestry, Shropshire in 1893 and was killed in action on 4 November 1918, exactly one week before the signing of the Armistice.
His poetry tells the story of his time in battle and often refers to memories of home. (View of the Oswestry Hills from Craig Sychtyn Nature Reserve - http://ow.ly/Whsk50jCDlm )
Today’s the day that the @marchescentre open the doors of their #trailblazing academy in celebration of their 1-year anniversary!🎉 From live demonstrations to world-class facility tours, you don’t want to miss this!

We had an other worldly walk in the woods today. The colours are just about at their best and the low cloud creates an ethereal quality. We loved it and a perfect antidote to Saffy’s start to the day, which was a visit to Craven Arms to get her toe nails clipped.
It’s a NO BRAINER! There’s NO UPFRONT FEES, you only pay when you sell .
The #AdvertisingRevolution is here! What does this mean for you? .

Making the most of the light, while it lasts.
Autumn is my favourite season - so much richness and bounty, the wonderful colours of the falling leaves - but the drawing in of the evenings is always a loss for me.
As the days get shorter I become more and more of a sun hunter - if there's a sunny spot somewhere, that's where you'll find me. Usually with a cup of tea 😉
