Throughout my life, I’ve always tried to see the silver lining in everything. I get it from my parents – they’re both fierce optimists who seek out the good in everyone and everything they come across.
My knees have always given me grief, ever since my first surgery at the ripe ol’ age of 16. Since then I’ve had both of my knees reconstructed, and countless surgeries to remove cartilage, take out screws and fix major infections.
Every time I’ve injured my knee(s), it’s always really affected me mentally. This time, it’s been the absolute worst. On the other side of the world to all my family, my doggos and a familiar healthcare system – London has tested me to the extremes lately.
It’s been getting me down, and there’s nothing I can do to change it, except my attitude. So today, I’m focusing on how lucky I am that I’ll be able to get surgery to fix my knee. How lucky I am to have so many friends on the other side of the world. How lucky I am that my room feels like a florist at the moment (my favourite!). How lucky I am, to have such a strong community on Instagram that support me and cheer me up with doggo photos.
Big love to all x
