"Some hats can only be worn if you're willing to be jaunty, to set them at an angle and to walk beneath them with a Spring in your stride as if you're only a step away from dancing. They demand a lot of you." - Neil Gailman

Dreaming of that open road....
Denver feels like the ultimate bear trap. And I’m not sold on it. I feel this summer I’ll relocate somewhere and mentally reset before my last year of school. Also finding time to slowly edit photos from this past fall’s canoe adventure with @danahalferty.
(AWAY MESSAGE) We are out of the office the rest of the weekend. If you need to reach us you can find us with our toes in the sand, enjoying the last warm days of fall, sipping a cold High Style #cannnabeer#craftelevated
Autumn seems to be going so quickly and it’s my favourite season too! ...... The builders are back AGAIN next week.....!! I’m a little excited though as they’re doing my Library/Home Office/Sewing Room! I’m sure there will be pictures to follow! 💕
Before being a mother I was looking for validation from others, insecure, and fearful.
My kids placed a whole new level of confidence in me that I never knew I had. You would think it would be the opposite, I thought the same thing too!
I’m trying to be fineeeee mind, body, and spirit❤️
First decent snowfall has got me itching to plan a winter camping rip. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We generally experiment with different types of shelter builds depending on our location and snowfall, often times il incorporate the hammock into the mix.
I use my #exped downmat and my @warbonnetoutdoors ridgerunner hammock and get through the coldest of nights with ease.
Which do you prefer: winter or summer destinations? ❄☀️
One last picture from Iceland winter wonderland. Next week I'll be in Italy; wonder what kind of weather we'll find there... ☂️😀

Happy Friday! I’m finally starting to feel like myself but have come to realize two things this week:
1. I am a terrible sick person. I do not know how to stop and rest and get well. For the past 16 years I’ve been the main parent in the home and haven’t had a chance to take care of me when I’m not well. Now that I run my own business from home, without employees, that hasn’t changed much. Even with my husband home from work this week it’s been hard to just be still and rest.
2. I love the holidays but they are stressful! Hosting and preparing all of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners by myself, even though we don’t have a large family, is a LOT of work. Once again this year I’m trying to plan as far in advance as possible to make it easier, but I’m already stressing that the boys have two appointments next Wednesday (so they won’t miss school). I feel like I should be chained to the kitchen those days. Wish me luck! I really want to be present and enjoy my family!
So today’s flashback Friday is to this peaceful fall moment in the woods — my happy place!
