Actual photo of my dining room table. And it’s looked like some variation of this for an entire week. I admire all of you momma’s who have a “laundry day.” I have a laundry life. In an effort to simplify and be intentional, even in this area, we are taking a few hours tomorrow to really purge and only keep what we love and need. The craziest part about all this laundry is that our drawers are still FULL. Even the kids. We will start there...because if I haven’t washed it in the last week, it’s obviously not high on the list of “favorites.” Do you have a laundry day? Or go by the one load a day rule? No matter how many words a photo is worth, sometimes it cannot tell the whole story. This quick (and awkward) snap belies the layers of today's pizza. What's obvious is a crust (blackbean), with sauce (ackee and roasted pepper), onions, sweet peppers, pineaple, and the green stuff is parsley.
What the photo couldn't possibly tell you is black bean flour is made from dehydrated beans, BUT, the beans must first be sprouted. So, soak em overnight, then leave them in a warm oven for an ENTIRE day. Then, grind, sift, grind sift, until flour is desired consistency, and for coconut flour I dehydrate the leftover pulp from making milk. And that's just a part of the crust. In this case, I saved the water from yesterday's black beans to make aquafaba, but some mornings I cook beans to get it. And that needs to be whisked for what seems like forever. I usually eyeball it but I had the timer on this morning and I had that mixer going for over 1/2hr! Then, combine aquafaba and flour, and roll it out. The sauce is ackee and roasted red pepper. That's red peppers roasted, and peeled, then processed with ackee garlic salt lime to yumminess. Roasted tomatoes are sliced, oiled and roasted. Onions roasted. Chop parsley, fresh sweet peppers, pineapple.
Bake crust, then layer on ingredients. Et voila! Pizza! Take a quick snap that could never possibly tell the story above.
I guess over 9 years of being neighbors and all the times I've babysat, losing control for the first time isn't so bad, right?! 😂😂😂😂 This little cutie's supposed to be in bed but here we are!
