“Love who you are, how you are, why you are. Right now.” - @pjhburns
In order to love other people well, we need to make sure our hearts are in check. During the good days and the bad, we need to remember to love ourselves, and that God is working through every situation for our good. #PeopleCHI

Sometimes we react greater to the people that trigger our hurts than how we responded to the person that hurt us in the first place. We all have past hurts, rejections, woes, stories and negative issues. We aren't always fully aware of them. it's only later life we reflect on what may or may not have caused this reaction in us. So sometimes a person comes about, unknowlingly triggers that issue, and bam!, we're boiling!!! Creating a whole new set of issues. Understand we are not too dissimilar to each other. Learn to extend patience through coaching, even to those people and things that don't seem to qualify for it..
Had a great time at the brain tumor walk in Boston. I am so proud of my girlfriend for getting the group together and raising $1000 as a team! She is one of the strongest people I know and I'm lucky to have her by my side!
#ThinkPinkYogis day 5 .
#malasana with #anjalimudra for the last day.
This was an amazing challenge and I enjoyed every single day. I loved seeing all of your posts and support.
Last day is reserved for this beautiful hip opener with mudra that should remind you to offer your love, help, understanding and hand to people around you. We are all one and we should recognise when someone is in need of a hug, talk, comfort or help. At least people around us, close ones.
Also, I would like to remind you all to examine your breasts today! Not tomorrow, but today. And tomorrow tell your sister, Mum, friend, or someone close to check hers also.
Namaste 🙏 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹

Funny meme but kind of a relevant topic tbh. I’m actually a labor nurse in my day to day life and have struggled with showing the spiritual side of me to my friends and family for about a decade now. I love science and medicine, and I also love new age holistic wellness and all things “weird” and spiritual. In my personal opinion the way forward for us all is to work to combine these two things. We aren’t just physical beings- that has even been proven through scientific research on conciousness and people who have gone through near death experiences.
Don’t be afraid to be your weird and wonderful self. I think a lot of the unhappiness in the world comes from us trying to be something that we aren’t. Trying to make ourselves fit into what we think society will accept and what will make us normal. There really is no normal- we are all different and unique and that is a GOOD THING! Granted you may not want to dive straight into conspiracy theories about aliens with your religious 90 year old Grandma, but I think spirituality is a unique experience for everyone and one we should be more open to listening/talking about as a society. I’ve started coming out of my shell a bit about things I believe in at work (with a bunch of super intelligent science-nerdy nurses) and I was beyond shocked at how many of them have been supportive of me and open to listening to some of the more “out there” topics.
So long story short- I hope we can all try to be more in touch with our inner selves and be open to sharing that with the world. On that same note- try to be accepting and understanding of those with different beliefs from those you hold yourself. Compassion and empathy for each other is how we can share knowledge and grow as a society.
I usually try to be apolitical on my Instagram, since literally everywhere else I am quite loudly passionate about my values and issues, but I want to tell you about a wonderful event that happened.
At Barnes and Noble a couple nights ago, I was sitting in the cafe doing my usual writing, and I couldn't help but overheard an elderly couple sitting not far away, who were talking about their fears concerning the Trump administration and how they pray that disillusioned young people will vote the GOP out of power to correct course.
At the end of the night, I couldn't stop myself from stopping by their table, and thanking them for being members of an older generation who were NOT willfully blind and ignorant to what is happening, and that as someone who's grown increasingly more bitter at the myopia and cruelty of older people set in their ways, who stubbornly refuse to allow the world to move on from them, and don't value the rights of the people inheriting the world that their generation crippled.... it gave me a small glimmer of restored hope, hearing these elderly folks speak truth and words of empathy for the world we're trapped on.
We all had a wonderful moment of mutual understanding and gratitude towards one another, shaking hands and all that great stuff, and they told me that they were likewise encouraged to see a young person who understood the danger we are in, and was committed to helping change things. It was a beautiful moment between human beings united by a common despair for the world, and I like to think that we all went home that night feeling a little bit better about the human race.
If you stumble upon people who have their minds right and hearts beating properly, PLEASE do what I did, and acknowledge and support them for it. We have to help validate our fellow decent human beings, we cannot let ourselves feel we are all alone. That's when despair wins, and nothing gets fixed.

Everyone, including my own child, deserves access to the SAME federal civil rights laws protecting against discrimination in the workplace, housing, schools, healthcare ect... period. A new attempted low by this administration. #humanrights#transrights#lgbtq#loveeachother 💙💗💙💗💙
Went for a quick run through the south side of #philly today (with the main goal of getting an #ishkibibbles#phillycheesesteak , duh) and couldn't help but be inspired by all of the #history here! 🇺🇸 Independence hall (where the declaration of Independence was signed) the #libertybell , and statues to #benjaminfranklin all in one run. It's perfectly fitting for voting season. ☑️ .
Please get out and vote. Vote to protect immigrants. Vote to protect the LGBT community. Vote to care for one another. Vote to build bridges, not walls. Vote for #Beto . Just go #vote and let's get a #bluewave going! 🌊 We can do this!! And after you vote, #strikeapose like this guy!

Listen: we’re all busy. Life is never going to miraculously be not full.
So how do we make the most of the time we DO have rather than bemoaning our lack of time?
We expand it. That’s how.
This week on the podcast @mikejwatts and I give you our best strategies for expanding time. (It IS possible. Really.)
- a big myth most people believe about time
- how our numbing behaviors make us lose time
- what we can learn from how kids experience time
- the best way to feel like you’re getting enough done
Listen in at the link in my profile, on iTunes, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
What’s your favorite way to expand time? Tell me in the comments!
It takes more energy to be angry than it takes to be kind to one another. Give someone a compliment. Pay for the persons coffee behind you in the drive-thru. Let someone know you’re thinking about them. Be kind, because everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about ❤️

Confession- For a long time I was really good at not having to deal with pain or emotions. I got hurt a few good times when I was younger and slowly put up walls that took a long time to come down. I vowed that I wouldn't let myself be hurt again. That I'd be strong and not need anyone else. That if I didn't let myself be vulnerable, I wouldn't be able to get hurt.
But that is no way to live! Because when we shut down, we may not be able to be hurt, but we also can't experience the best parts of love and friendship and vulnerability.
I slowly realized that I had to let the walls down and "feel the feelings" in order to work through them. And that was tough, and it still is. Because to be honest, the online world can be rough. And sometimes people comment in ways that cut deep because they touch on those parts of deepest pain or deepest insecurity. Or because sometimes there is an element of truth in their words and it makes me face my own faults. And sometimes they are just mean for the sake of being mean.
And what I realized in the process of this for myself, is that when people act of of anger, or hatred, that often that stems from fear or insecurity or pain. Because I've felt that pain. So now, when get those mean comments or experience those things in person in real life, I try to remind myself that those feelings come from pain and to respond in love, respect and empathy instead of sending the anger right back.
Some days (more than I like to admit), I don't do this well. Or I let the comments derail me for the whole day, or I let myself get angry. But then, I remember, this is a journey and the only way to get better at this is to keep doing it... keep trying... and keep loving.
What do you think? Is there a time you've had to work through something unbelievably difficult to find healing on the other side?
My son, my man, someone who put me in my place right when I needed it. He came at a time in my life where my Thursday nights involved tearing up the dance floor, my weekends involved working my butt off to spend all that money that night. I was lost. I didn’t know who I was. I was a Christian in high school, even was a youth leader with disabled kids. I got out of how school and lost myself. Lost my faith. But what I never understood then, and sometimes still find it hard to believe is that God never gave up on me. He knew what I was going through then, and he knows what I’m going through now. Gibson might not have came about in a way I would have planned for myself, but man God knew what he was doing when he gave him to me 5 years ago. I love being his mom and I love sharing my love for God with him. Gibson has seen me go through a lot lately. My emotions have not been easily to deal with for my husband..let alone my 5 year old. And yet this little keeps making me smile. I’m thankful for him. #mylove#behappy#postpartumdepression#postpartumawareness#guidance#havefaith#loveeachother#findhappiness#myson#gibsondale#trustinGod#faith#Heknows
Why choose to be anything else but, Happy. Do what makes you happy for you. Not everything will fall where you want it to be. But, if you fall it’s because you stopped trying. Remain positive and determined and you will reach it. I’ve always been this way and I can remember all the things I have now that I prayed for one day. Just a little reminder to my lovely friends🌻 #selflove#goodvibes#determined#choosehappiness
