Had a bit of a bad weekend on the food and booze? Want know how bad it has damaged your body shape?

Do not step on the scales now! Yet this is what people always do.

You’re clearly going to have put on a few pounds from the excess calories & carbs, which can cause a little water retention.

If you consider your morning scale weight number as the only way of measuring success, there is going to be pain.
.
Especially if you’re doing it on a daily basis, you can’t significantly drop much body fat overnight. It’s usually just the food being digested or you have become dehydrated overnight that makes you lighter on the scales.

Jumping on the scales every time you messed up nutritionally is not going to a pleasant experience, it then puts you in the “f*ck it – I’ll eat what I want now” mode.

Weight varies massively and it does not mean you have messed up.

Where most people go wrong if their weight creeps up overnight is to go super low calories, train more, stress more, which will only end up in more weight gain.

If the scales budge up a pound or two, don’t panic!

Just get back to being consistent with your food, make your training sessions and forget about it.

Before you know it (at least a week before next weigh in) you will have dropped that extra couple of pounds, plus a few more!

I burned 233 kcal in 33 mins 🔥 See break down of my modified workout further down 👇It feels soooo good to be back to working out. It does feel as if it's been ages since my last workout but it's "only" been a week. Not working out for a week was the norm for the OLD me. Now? It feels totally foreign and strange! 😲 I did go to swim on Thursday and Sunday so hopefully that did count to something, but nothing beats a workout at home, with my weights and my trainer Lisa 😍

Yesterday was a bit of an off day. I was planning on studying for a few hours in the afternoon. The fact is that I kept re-reading the same page over and over again, and nothing was registering. I just couldn't focus. It felt like my brain did not want to co-operate ❌I took it as a sign that my body and brain just needed to chill, relax and unwind, after such crazy 10 days. So that's exactly what I did. I watched two episodes from FRIENDS, for a good laugh. Then napped for an hour 💤. I didn't get to work out, but I DID stick to my calorie limit and finished at 1,359 for the day.

If you can prioritise sleep and then go double whammy and start the day with a positive statement you will find this is a tremendous way to help you focus your mind on positivity.

When it comes to your nutrition a calorie is just a calorie.

The difference is the nutrient content. To ensure good health you should pick mainly foods which are one ingredient or have as few funky named "add ins"  as possible.

In a nut shell this means eat a diet made up nutrient dense and delicious whole foods.

❤This is isn’t to say that there isn’t a time and a place for other less nutrient dense calorie based foods just not as the majority of your diet.

Especially in the beginning you need to be a planner.  know for all you  disorganised flossies like me will be rolling your eyes right now but seriously is a giving up a bit of your time in exchange for better health really that bad?

Planning meals, food shopping and acknowledging that you do need a weekend plan to help you stay on track are all essential.

You see the less things that are left to chance the better if you have to make a last minute decision about an evening meal when your tired or in a rush then old habits will creep in and your choices might not be the best.

This gives a consistent daily expenditure and is a hugely important for both physical and mental health.

Since switching my work to mainly online coaching I've had to embrace this  habit and go mini scurries over a day.

Over time these habits will become something you just do and seriously  maintaining them for life is always a good idea.

All I had in the house that was KETO : Lean ground turkey, lettuce, tomato, Asiago, bleu cheese, almonds and coconut oil. So I seasoned the ground turkey until spicy af, then I put Asiago and blue cheese mix with chopped almonds inside and cooked in coconut oil 6 minutes each side. When I was overweight it killed my left knee when I used an elliptical. Now that I've dropped (as of today) 99.5 lbs I was able to get 30min done with it on incline mode. This is my prom dress from 15 years ago 😂 Why do I still have it?  No idea really, but I decided to keep it for a little while longer.  I don’t remember how much I weighed in high school, I think I was a size 14/16 and XL 🤷🏻‍♀️ Part of me wants to see if I can fit into this dress one day soon. Then I’ll donate it to a local organization that gives prom dresses to girls who can’t afford them otherwise. #mondaymotivation

There isn't a difference between carbs in the morning or in the evening. Bread doesn't know what time of the day it is and it certainly doesn't contain any more or less calories going by the clock!

Typically what it comes down to is the person. Many people can struggle with over eating or boredom eating. And it just so happens that many carb sources are not only delicious - but a quick and easy snack source. That combined with a person who struggle to control urges or practice moderation usually leads to over eating. Taking them out of a deficit and into a surplus - leading to weight gain.

It's not the carbs that are causing the weight gain - it's the surplus calories. So, if you can practice moderation and control. You should be all means include carbs in your diet all throughout the day. So long as you're in a deficit the timing of the carbs won't lead to weight gain.

Weighing in at 167 lbs this morning looking forward to seeing what the 150s look like it’s been a few years 👀 3-6 Weeks off from weights means lots of cardio and abs, maybe this won’t be so bad after all.

Because today was weight in day and I gained 2.8 pounds. I wasn't feeling too good about the numbers but realized I've had losses. It may not be a huge difference but a difference regardless.
