I skipped the gym this morning and took my yoga mat outside. Focusing on exercise as mindful movement has been a GAME CHANGER for me. ⠀
In the past exercise was punishment and there was so much guilt and obligation tied up into it.
Now I exercise for my mind and for my bodily function, rather than society’s flawed beauty standards. ⠀
Mindful movement like yoga brings me calm, reduces my anxiety and feelings of not being enough. It makes me see that I don’t need to change myself because I am already good enough. I still struggle with moments of self doubt and not feeling confident about my body but that’s an internalisation of society and media rather than how my higher self truly feels. ⠀
Find what makes you feel calm and present my fwends and do that a lot ok? Cos all we have is now ya know? #SwiftEats 💖✨
Ps. Can we not talk about the piece of hair stuck to my shoulder pls 💅🏽
Under the Same Sky
Do you know why I feel looking up every once in a while is important?
Because every once in a while, when the sky gets overcast, my friend sends me a pic of it because she knows it will make me smile.
Because last week a little sweetheart sent me a video of Mumbai rains because I was missing monsoon season so badly.
Because sunsets captured in my phone bring back memories of good times spent with family and friends vacationing at one place or another.
Because a few days back my husband spotted this sunset and thought he should tell me to look at it. His next thought was she’s definitely gotten high on it already. Regardless, he wanted to share it with me. And that’s the point.
That is why looking up is important to me because it reminds me wherever in the world I may be, I am sharing a brilliant, beautiful sky with some precious people out there. For that powerful realisation and for that magnificent view.
