What is real?
I wonder what reality is, would it be our perception through multiple filters and beliefs? #
Would it be what we feel with our body and energy?
Would it be sensory, mainly through the 5 senses?
Things are not always what they seem
Sometimes hard to grasp what is actually real. Find myself looking deeply inside Do you ask yourself that question sometimes?
What are the responses you get?
My mom sent me this the other day in Portuguese and I dropped on Google translate.
Such a good one!
The mystery of the floating stone...
"See the importance of seeking other points of view than yours, giving the benefit of the doubt, questioning and not believing only in the proposition at the first moment, even if it is obvious or even seemingly simple." 😉
This photo is real and has not been manipulated with digital features.
The floating rock exists, the ravine exists, the trees exist, the sky exists and each element is exactly where it should be. The only thing out of place is your point of view! Try turning the photo upside down.
~ Leaf Detail III ~
"Each of us is a unique thread, woven into the beautiful fabric, of our collective consciousness." ~ Jaeda DeWalt
When I look deeply into nature, I am also looking deeply within myself, seeing the intricate patterns of life, sewn together, like threads, woven through all of existence. I am not separate, I am like the leaf, I am but one part of the great tree of life.
What do you see when you look deeply at your own face? «•»
I see the dark circles under my eyes. The deep crease in my forehead. Signs of aging. My ping-pong ball cheeks and semi crooked teeth. «•»
I see signs of pauses in laughter. Times of sadness. Moments of self-doubt. Thoughts of wonder. Snippets of worry. «•»
I see signs of a person behind the face that’s struggled, strived and persevered. Beat herself up and at times pushed too hard. Who’s lived with loss, longing and rejection as her best friend along side joy, laughter, happiness and hope. «•»
Stop placing blame on everyone else around you. Stop trying to make people believe the toxic people are your friends, your lover, your family, your children, your president, your government, your church... LOOK deeply into yourself and check yourself first because you may be the toxic person. We have to evaluate what we allow to come into our space and not allow it to fully consume our minds. If we do allow it to take over our minds we end but being just as toxic as the people around us that we complain so much about.
You may be the one that’s not right for someone, you may be the one complaining about a person your dating and all the while your the one who is just as toxic! #lookdeeply
The healing circles don’t stop!
We apologize for the delay in the topic this week but we want to be intentional and sure about what topics we believe our campus community needs!

When I spotted these 4 sticks during an outdoor play session with Empress II, I saw a lesson in them that's kept me grounded.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'd looooove to know what comes to mind for you when you look at these 4 sticks.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Share your thoughts in the comments, my lovelies.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My thoughts: As I looked at the sticks, they reminded me of trials we'll all experience. Some will be short, some long; some will be heavy, others lighter. Our trials will differ in intensity, nature, and length, and they may not be straightforward to overcome or deal with. Despite all this, every single one of our trials can lead us to Allah, to be rooted firmly in trust in Him, and to hold onto a handhold that never breaks.
(中文在下面) Guess what I would have before teaching a 4 pm class: Salad? Sandwich? Coffee? Dessert? Instant noodles?
My student’s guess was salad + coffee because yoga teachers are usually vegetarians. I actually had a dessert. 😆 I do have cravings for comfort food, including instant noodles, occasionally. 😂
A vegetarian diet isn’t necessarily healthier. Likewise, a vegetarian isn’t necessarily more compassionate than a person who eats meat.
It depends on volition behind a behaviour, whether the behaviour is a conscious choice, and the right conditions for a phenomenon to manifest.
Always look deeper beyond the surface. This will generate deeper understanding.
Walking along this path helped me sort out the following... Last week the Go Fund Me campaign was made public after many days of avoiding that last click. I REALLY felt an aversion asking people for money.
I just couldn’t seem to get to the bottom of the powerful aversion. Until I re-listened to #brenebrown speak about #vulnerability on #tedtalks
I saw that my fear of asking came from the deeply ingrained #perfectionism within me. If I weren’t perfect, why would anyone #love me? A perfect person, in my faulty subconscious thinking, needs nothing from another human being.
How untrue is that?!?
So simple yet quite #profound for me. Thank you, Brene, for speaking your truth.
Please consider donating to my Go Fund Me to help bring my book TRANSFORMING TO JOY into the world! (link in bio)
True colours can come in many forms - light and dark, positive and negative. There are so many ways people eventually allow their true colours to shine through. We are often mistaken with our “first impressions” of people. We may connect with someone we initially perceive to be a certain way, only to find out later on they’re the complete opposite of our original perception. Sometimes we can meet people we are not drawn/attracted to initially but after time, we grow fond of them and ultimately attracted to them. Likewise we may meet others we initially feel attracted to, yet with time we realise they’re very different and so the attraction fades. Like we say, looks are deceiving and are only skin deep.
True colours often shine through in someone we have known for a long time; someone we truly believed we knew well. However, people can always do things to surprise us - positively & negatively. People can and do change - so it’s a wrong perception to feel because we’ve known someone a long period of time that they are rigid in their ways and that they will never change. Aṅgulimāla is a figure important in Buddhism, a shining example of the most amazing transformation - from killer to monk; but this was done under the support and guidance of the Buddha - sometimes we just need to believe in someone and give them support and encouragement to change. Don’t ever give up on anyone - we are all capable of change. ⚡️
Often during the worst storms of our lives people can show their true colours - people we thought hands down would be by our side are not, and others we never even considered would be there, come through for us and give great support. ⚡️
Jim Morrison penned the lyrics to “People Are Strange” and he was spot on - people are strange, interesting, complicated and mysterious in so many ways. Everyone is different yet equal ✨
I somehow grew up believing that if I loved someone, I had to accept all behaviors - even unacceptable ones.
Then I heard the word ‘boundaries’. What? Boundaries? You mean I could love someone and have boundaries?! You mean I don’t have to accept unacceptable behaviors?
Over time, I learned that loving me first was the greatest offering I could make to another. Real healthy love comes from deep inner work... looking inside at my faulty beliefs, loving them, and releasing them. Over and over again...
Saying ‘no’ can be the greatest act of love... for oneself and another. Have you said ‘no’ to someone you love?
@metallica - powerful lyrics that for me, really resonate with non-attachment and emptiness! ⬅️swipe 4 more .
. “Only knowledge will I save” - .
What a line 👌🏻 this would be the ultimate place to dwell - a place I’d like to be...a great deal of effort, discipline and commitment would be required to truly arrive there. #WorkInProgress .
“To the game you stay a slave” - .
We are a slave to so much more than we may realise - when we are self grasping at all our external factors, we are almost always mentally enslaved. So, less is more...the less we have the more freedom we have which is summed up beautifully in the line - .
“the less I have the more I gain” 👌🏻 .
The less we crave for and run after, the better we feel. If we always have a list of wants & often unrealistic goals, we never feel we have “arrived” so we are constantly chasing. Then the more we have the more complicated life is, and more of our time is consumed to care for it all, so the less time we have to take care of the only moment that really matters - the present. @jimcarreyhere says it beautifully-
“I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer"
Bob Marley said - “Money is numbers and numbers never end. If it takes money to be happy, your search for happiness will never end”
Many people assume money will bring happiness because they can buy more possessions & go wherever they want. However, many of those people who believe that haven’t yet understood the purpose of their life. With more money they’d lead the same lifestyle, but just more extravagantly; so all they’ve changed is external factors. Once the novelty of the money wore off they’d then realise they feel exactly the same way as before the money. People get used to their lot. We can’t look outside ourself for happiness, it only lies within. We can have very little in life and be poor but be blissfully happy! I feel when we’re truly unhappy & suffering, it’s the universe tapping on us the shoulder saying “hey, it’s time for change”! .
If we go through life with rigid views and believing we are always right and it’s always others who are wrong, not only will we learn very little, but we will encounter a lot of problems along the way, and eventually become rather unhappy and know little peace. We have to be like trees; totally grounded with strong roots, yet able to sway and bend with storms & changes without breaking. If we totally close our minds to the views of others, we are basically not even prepared to make others feel listened to, and that in itself will cause problems. If we listen to others, we can often begin to make progress through beginning to understand (even slightly) their perceptions. I said before, generally, people, groups and nations want others to see their point of view and agree that their view is correct - but the ones on the other side want exactly the same. It’s the “us against them” scenario - and often that leads to arguing, anger and resentment. Admitting we are wrong, or saying sorry is only difficult because of pride and ego. Listening is not about giving up what you believe in, or what you see is right, or being walked all over, it’s about learning and developing more awareness & understanding of “the other side” - if we at least listen to the views of others, sometimes we may see things differently, sometimes we will learn, sometimes we may change our views, and other times it may just help us to understand others better and help us adapt new ways of trying to change what we know is wrong. #bethechange#bethechangeyouwanttosee#wearenotalwaysright#ifimwrongisayimwrong#burstego#ego#letgo#dontberigid#change#listen#learn#deeplistening#nonattachmenttoviews#nonattachment#beopen#openminded#openyourmind#freeyourmind#lookdeeply#notalwaysright#admitwhenyourewrong
